No here is a novel idea: a video QSL. My recording that I submitted to Heavy Metal Shortwave begins at the 11:45 mark (link below). Thank you Heavy Metal Shortwave for such a unique QSL.

Very weak signal here with music.

AT 1851 signal got stronger and was able to make out some shout outs to HFU posters.

General Radio Discussion / What are they thinking?
« on: February 01, 2020, 2142 UTC »
I’m not sure what to think of this.

My wife and I were off to see our grandson play basketball and DX Engineering just happened to be about 10 miles off course so we left home early to check out what was in the store. I specifically wanted to tune around on an Icom R8600. The ham radio station is in the back of the store so I walked in there and asked if I could tune around on their operating R8600 and the clerk said sure. I thought great; and then he said that there was no antenna hooked up to the receiver. “What in the hell”! So as I gazed at all the ham transceivers that were on and I wondered if they were hooked up to the big %&* antenna on the roof he said “well you can’t hear anything in the store anyway”.

I did spend about three to four minutes checking the display and menu on the “dead” receiver and walked away. Not sure what they are thinking about having the radio with no antenna attached to it. Well if I ever really get serious about buying one I know where I won’t get it.

Nice signal playing music on 6955.

Huh? / I'm so lucky

I'm so lucky to be married to a person with such a great sense of humor. I recently purchased a refurbished Whistler scanner, it is their basic model but useful for going out side and working in the yard while listening to my local police, still VHF and not encrypted, and if it rains or something falls on it no great loss. Anyway, after I opened the box it came in my wife said "I think that five scanners is enough". And she was able to say it with a straight face. Well we passed that five scanner limit several decades ago so the joke is on her.

Had two SSTV images broadcast and into talk. The images were the same the first on in Scottie 2 and the second in Scottie 2:

Just rechecked my SSTV images and there was only one image broadcast at 0401z, Scottie 1. Not sure what I was smoking thinking there were two.

Found this image on MMSSTV must have been when I took the dog out, B/W 12 at 0429z

B/W 12 at 0443z:

Good signal no ID but believe it to be Zeke's Attic.
Solid ID at 0124z. Zeke's Attic Radio
