The Voice of Captain Ron on 6950.12 USB at 1247 UTC. " Broadcasting from somewhere in the middle of nowhere."

ID at 1249 UTC, S6+

1301 UTC sounds like a recast of a Holloween show starting?  Talking about last Halloween and aliens doing a probe on him.

After that had a visit from Al Fansome and some kind of Jellyfish Monkey, being a little hard on the Captain.

1312 anounced email addresses, one of each a Yahoo and a Hotmail addy then off the air.

North American Shortwave Pirate / Radio Ga Ga, July 31, 2010

Radio Ga Ga this morning.  Good signal, at least S6, unfortunately the Chinese OTHR is also about S6.

I turned the radio on just in time to hear the end of the last song, and catch the SSTV pic at the end.

HF Beacons / Looks like a new dasher on 4097.8
« on: May 15, 2010, 0442 UTC »
Anyone notice the new dasher at 4097.8?  It is just above the daytime only Inyo Whooper.  I have been watching it for a couple days, to make sure it was really a dahser and not some channel marker or something.  No change in the last two days, same dot pitch, one second on and one second off.

HF Beacons / PA into the Mohave Desert, Feb 17, 2010, 0400
« on: February 17, 2010, 0413 UTC »
Howdy all,

PA 4094.62 is doing a fair trip into the Mohave Desert tonight.  It really is not all that common for me to hear it here.

Also OK on 3449.88 and A on 2097.31 at this time.  Not a bad beacon day, I think I have gotten 21 of the beacons on my list in the last 10 hours or so.

HF Beacons / All 3 of the 4102/4104 beacons, Feb 17, 2010
« on: February 17, 2010, 0307 UTC »
Howdy all,

A few minutes ago all three of the 4102/4104 beaocns could be heard at one time, I think that is a first for me personally.  At least all three that I am aware of.  The 4102.3 W wind beacon, the unknown desert dasher on 4102.8, and the night time only O beacon on 4104.2.

A little before lunch today I decided to spin the dial and do some beacon browsing, while my wife got lunch ready.  SOme of the beacons were extremely strong, both S and Sally were stronger than I have ever seen before.

I did not camp on any freq too long, or I might have added a couple more to the list.

HF Beacons / Unknown 4102.8 dasher still hanging in there
« on: February 06, 2010, 0138 UTC »
The 4102.8 kHz 1 second, 30 dash/min, that I reported a week ago still seems to be hanging in there.

It is very weak here, only seen in the early evening consistantly but I have seen it in the daytime and the night so I believe it is 24 hours.

I have not yet caught all three of the 4102/4103 beacons at the same time, but I will, sooner or later.

HF Beacons / Unknown dasher, 4102.8
« on: January 29, 2010, 0149 UTC »
Hiya all,

While surfing the beacons this evening at around 0120 UTC I saw something I have not noticed before...I think.  Just above the W wind beacon I see a dasher.  30 dashes per minute and dashes are one second long, so dead time is also one seond long.  Center freq looked pretty stable and at 4102.8 kHz, about 450 Hz above the W wind beacon.

At first signal was pretty weak, but did come up a bit before fading again, I grabbed the attached images at about the peak.  Right now I can just tell it is in there for some of the dashes, not hearing all of them.

Anyone else hearing this?

HF Beacons / Saline up, 5205.31, Jan 26 2010, 1650 UTC
« on: January 26, 2010, 1657 UTC »
Jan 26, 2010, 1650 UTC

The Saline Valley dasher is coming in nicely on 5205.31 kHz center freq.  Quite the sag during the dash.  This is a daytime only dasher if I remember right?  I am pretty sure I have never caught it after sundown.

Barnyard is making it into SoCal right now, 2244 z, on 6930 USB.  Elvis Birthday Bash show.

So far all Elvis, including the Ed Sullivan Show introduction of Elvis doing Heartbreak Hotel.

Edit:  At 2325 z Barnyard is S8 with my noise floor at S2, so a really good and clear signal.  "Walk a Mile in My Shoes" playing, Elvis sounding pretty stoney at times.
