I can't say that anymore, just got Rainy fairly strong. Around 6626.55, but quite an interpulse drift on that signal.

I blew the area of letters up 4 times so that you can see the letters a little better. Keep in mind the waterfall runs from top to bottom, so that the bottom contains the oldest information. In other words, you read the CW from bottom to top.
Note the time scale of the waterfall along the left side, and the frequency of the RF along the top.
With those two indicators you can see that the dasher along the right side is at 8000.82 kHz and that there are 24 dashes between 0613:08 and 0613:26 (14 seconds), so the dash rate is about 100 per minute. I don't think this particular dasher, at 100 per minute, would be mistaken for a slow dasher. Also, the only dashes not clearly shown are ones covered by static crashes a a two dash fade, in the original image, before JPG compression, the two faded dashes are easily seen.
Additionally I have another shot taken with this dasher centered, and the 8003.6 kHz Pike dasher freq can be seen on the right. No signal is present in the Pike frequency range, so it seems I had no conditons to Pike at that time. In this shot the UFO beacon can be seen to the left of the dasher.
I have never yet heard Pike by the way, but I keep trying

While looking in the 8 MHz area for beacons I notice this sig last night and set a recorder on it for several hours.
It would start on the hour and half hour with a 1 kHz tone. After a few seconds (varied length) it would go into a pulsed mode. The pulses would be differing lengths each cycle. The longest pulse duration I noted was over 1 second long, with equal off time. The shortest I saw was about 149 msec on and off times (298 msec total cycle time).
And no, this is not an OTHR. With a pulse length this long and no swept RF (chirp) the minimum range resolution for the fastest pulse would be about 45000 km.

Several things of note in this batch:
The "O" beacon on 4103.80, I have never seen this before and it was very weak.
The "Rainy" beacon first showed up on 6626.59 and had _huge_ intrapulse drift. 20 minutes later it was on the more regular freq of 6626.39 and showed less drift during the pulse.
This was the first time I have grabbed the "UFO" beacon.

The program used is SpectraVue, the new Beta 3.0 version, in this case build 23. I trimmed off all of the settings that are normally along the bottom 25% of a screen.
The span was 25 kHz (as can be seen across the top).

Hiya beaconman,

however it looks like
you caught the Pike dasher up around 8000Khz...
The Pike Dasher has a unique keying signature...it is easy
for the ear to pick out...
The Pike dasher does a very weird thing....it will send every
third or fourth dash down near 8000Khz while the other dashes
will remain around 8003.6kHz...this happens late at night thus
there are some listeners that think there is a slow dasher around
8000kHz when it is really the Pike dasher...

HF Beacons / "O" beacon 4103.8?

I ran across this tonight. Not sure if it is a pirate beacon or not. It has just enough drift down on the dash that I think iti probably is.
It is at 4103.800 and sending what sounds like the letter "O", three dashes over and over. It is so far down in my noise I can not tell if there is anything else to it or not. I left an RX on it for over an hour, but it never really came up any higher than in this picture.
In the headphones the three dashes were easier to hear than they seem in this picture.

Rocky (6626.2 high speed dasher) I think I get every once in a while, have never really gotten it strong and I can not see it right this minute. Hexie 2 (6700.4 dasher) I get regularly, right now I have it at 6700.51 and S4 or so. The Rainy ditter at 6626.4 I have never gotten.

Radio FIrst Termer 6925 USB from before 0400 to sign-off at 0445. S9 or better in California, although faded to S5 near end.
Followed by Dead Cat Radio at about 0450. Again S9 or a little better.
