I had them non-stop. By late afternoon, the Canadian stations were coming in over them.

I've been hearing Christmas music on 1610, since before 1600z this morning. Non stop, with no IDs.  The only licensed stations for 1610 are both from Canada, and I don't think it is either of them. In fact, I think I can hear CHHA under this station.

Any ideas?

General Radio Discussion / Sarcasm

Sarcasm is the rhetorical device of using a characterization of something or someone in order to express contempt. It is closely connected with irony, in that the two are often combined in the same statement.

BTW,I think I heard your 1620 station last weekend? Same format you mentioned but no id's. I was just south of Pittsburgh in the 4:30 EST time frame when I caught it. Your guess is as good as any as to where it's coming from.

Interesting. I was thinking it was the local college station, which runs 20W carrier current. But if you heard it up there, that makes me wonder if it is someone else.

1710 is always Radio Celestial here, from NYC. Apparently they bought the old Lubavitcher rig.

FWIW They're not shy about their QTH, you can find their address on their website. Then go to google streetview, and you can see their antenna tower on the building.

Hilarious.

Picking up AZ at 1223z. Weak, but it isn't dark here. I'll have to try earlier tomorrow morning.

I've been hearing a station the last few days on 1620, mostly in the afternoon. The programming is a very odd mix of music, including rock, oldies, and instrumentals. Never heard an ID. It doesn't seem to match the formats for any licensed stations on this frequency, which makes me wonder if it is a pirate.

Anyone else hearing this? I'm hearing it right now, 1846z,S3 or so.

I've noticed a "whoop whoop whoop" sound between songs.
