The Crystal Ship, 6700 kHz AM, approx. 0200 UTC, 5385.5 AM around 0240z.  Good on 6700 to N. Central Texas until 0330z, then poor due to t-storms and fading.  No solid copy on 5385.  Pink Floyd, Doors, Beatles, Clash, others, George Carlin comedy sketch.  Good audio quality despite conditions.  Off around 0445z, tho' I'd lost signal by then.  SINPO - 32222.  Het on USB and QRM from Spanish language military comms.  (Magnavox D2935 with whip indoors.)

6925.2 USB, 0430-0452 UTC.  Not sure of official name for this one, heard before this year.  Seems to be "Hell Radio" or "666 Hell Radio."  Parody of WYFR with cutups and resampling from actual Family Radio programming, emphasis on 666, satan, Revelation and hell, all of which seems to be "super wonderful" in the voice of Harold Camping.  SIO - 666.  (Fort Worth, TX)
Surprisingly listenable 13 minute audio clip available... if you dare:

Interesting catch for me since I heard both frequencies equally for the first time Sunday night.  Tuned into The Crystal Ship around 0430 UTC, heard Beatles "Help" and Robin McNamara "Lay A Little Lovin' On Me" at equal signal strength and conditions on 6700.1 and 5385.5 kHz AM.  SINPO - 34243 on both.  Good audio quality.  Steady signal, comparable strength, static crashes not too bad considering regional t-storms.
Three minute audio clip, flipping between two frequencies every 30 seconds:

Other / Pescadores (Asian?) 6709 USB
« on: June 21, 2008, 1117 UTC »
6709 USB, 1100 UTC, Saturday am.  Unusually quiet conditions for summer, hearing what sounds like Asian language QSO, only S1-S2 signal strength but audible at dawn.  (Gopher Stomp, TX)

North American Shortwave Pirate / 101 Ranch Radio
« on: June 21, 2008, 0921 UTC »
101 Ranch Radio heard twice on 6925 USB in N. Central Texas.
0142-0159 UTC, rock and blues-rock music with slide guitar on final song, weak signal, IDs muffled, sounded like "101".  SINPO - 24222
0310-0324 UTC, stronger IDs and partial e-mail address copied, finished show with Hank Williams "Why Don't You Love Me?".  SINPO - 24222
Received quick e-mail confirmation of reception report from Doc of 101 Ranch Radio, says he's trying to "work out the kinks" in transmissions, "...1200 miles (distance) as the crow flies..."

First time I've heard this here in Texas: at 0930 UTC Friday Radio Netherlands (in Nederlands, from Bonaire) came in on top of Radio Australia (Tok Pisin, Shepparton) on 6020 kHz AM, equal strength.  Australia already in progress with cultural programming and music.  Not unusual for me to receive either, but first time I've heard both equally.  (SINPO - 42433, slight fluttering fade and het.)  Fort Worth, TX.

TCS, 6700.1 & 5385.5 AM, 0115-0423 UTC.  Disco theme, then general 1970s-'80s music mix.  SINPO - 32232 on 6700.1, generally steady, severe buzz/het on USB after 0400z.  SINPO - 24411 on 5385.5, relatively little QRM/QRN, deep fades to inaudible, somewhat better after 0230z.  Best on indoor Sony ICF-2010 in AM sync detection mode.  (Fort Worth, TX)

835
6925 USB, 0200-0227 UTC, Northwoods Radio with music (mostly Bob Seger) and IDs, loon call.  Thin audio on music.  Jackpine Savage talking live, somewhat muffled audio.  Off with ID, loon call, CW tones.  Best catch of the Northwoods Radio weekend marathon session.  SINPO - 34233.  (Fort Worth, TX)

1100 UTC, 6925.6/.7 USB.  Early morning relay of RJI with some classic Sycko Radio material ("Heavy" by Over Core).  Live show, Sycko w/ Father's Day greetings and shout-outs.  SINPO - 35333.  (Fort Worth, TX)

Other / 6849 USB, English language QSO
« on: June 15, 2008, 1140 UTC »
6849 USB, 0850 UTC, Sunday, 6/15/08, English language QSO, two men. After 0900z, woman's voice heard.  Didn't sound like official military comms or hams, possibly maritime?  Weak, under static crashes. Data nearby, closer to 6845 kHz.  (Fort Worth, TX)

North American Shortwave Pirate / Northwoods Radio 6935 USB
« on: June 15, 2008, 0323 UTC »
6935 USB, 0200-0238 UTC, good signal here, but harsh buzz, probably local RFI/EMI.  Music, clear IDs with loon sound fx, op talking, sounds like live show, announcement of early Sunday morning show.  SINPO - 33133  (Fort Worth, TX)

Other / 6704.2 LSB Spanish QSO
« on: June 14, 2008, 1217 UTC »
6704.2 kHz LSB
1200 UTC, Saturday - Spanish language, sounds like informal QSO rather than Mexican military or police comms, whistling, several numbers mentioned (all series of single digits "quatro, ocho, dos," etc.), possibly related to maritime positions not codes.  Hearing at least three men, one said "OK, OK, sabe..." another said "...caliente..."

(Fort Worth, TX)
