Same programming as everyone else is hearing . . . with a VG signal

VG signal fighting the static off . . . with Ram Jam "Black Betty" at 0124 UTC

Decent signal, but the static crashes are really rough tonight

Heard about 10 seconds of SSTV before QRT. Good signal

Excellent signal with Cyndi Lauper "Time after Time" & other pop

Tuned in during the ID before the "Puttin' on the Ritz" parody. VG signal & a number of clear IDs

Sounds like '50s or early '60s pop buried in a ton of static crashes. Pretty good signal, but it's a rough ride

I've heard a bunch of other styles of music since: Joe Satriani-style "guitar hero" music, '80s-ish YL pop, a march, etc.

I've been recording via the Drake R8, but listening on the Magnavox D8443 boombox with the whip down & no external antenna. Sounds good! A few of the songs that I've heard & know are Guess Who "No Sugar Tonight, Def Leppard "Pour Some Sugar on Me," Stones "Brown Sugar," Archies "Sugar, Sugar." Crazy how good it sounds just on the boombox.

VG signal with Ozzy "Crazy Train," Jimi Hendrix "Foxy Lady," etc.

Heard Tom Petty "Don't Come around Here No More" & off at about 0057. Same station? Good signal

Kinda hard to believe, but I'm hearing Ballsmacker with a nice signal on an old Magnavox 8443 boombox. I don't even have an external antenna or the whip antenna extended. I was switching back'n'forth between SW1 & SW2 bands to see if I could get the dirty contacts clear for SW2 (not yet). Switched back to SW1, & the band went out again, so I was tuning up through the band and I heard a station with '60s rock (evidently the Beatles' song) coming in with a really nice signal. Waited a bit & had 100% clear copy on the ID with info on the Ballsmacker website.

Back when I started listening for pirates, I heard KPRC, WDX, and maybe another station or two above the AM band on a GE boombox, but this is the 1st SW pirate that I've heard on one.

Nice to see that the thread has finally hit page 2. As everyone's noted, loud static crashes tonight. I think the signal's been mostly around S9 or higher, but the t-storm crashes have been rough. They passed through this area a couple of hours ago, so I'm not surprised that they're so loud here. Rush, Foo Fighters, Good Charlotte, & a lot more.
