I was wondering what that was. He's fighting it out with the pescadores here.

Killer signal here. The audio sounds a little overdriven, which is unusual for the Cap.

Leon's finally found a place to rest his head. RIP.

I've heard a few ops using Cool Edit get their bit rates mixed up just before signing on. The shows generally came off sounding like Alvin and The Chipmunks going through a woodchipper.

I was killing some time at the local bookstore yesterday, looking at the radio mags. Pop Com mentioned a broadcaster on this frequency, either in the center guide page,or the SW loggings section. I can't recall the other details.

Most of the SS I communications I hear in that region of the band on this side of the country are fishermen.

A Brazilian company was offering a conversion kit to get cb rigs to operate at the lower end of 40 meters last year. I wonder if the folks in Baja and SoCal aren't using this type of tech as a cheap way to bypass cellphones?

Did you stop by the monkey cages at the zoo and poke the poor beasts with sticks as a child,Al?

A LP AM'er  in SW Ohio uses 1610. I hear them very occasionally, maybe once a year, tops. Their format is a lot like college station. It's usually a guy/girl announcing team.

Other than them coming in via skip,1610 in my listening area is all Latino.
