I had one on 1710 a few years back that was running programming from a legit station on 1610, Radio Boston Latino.

I'm sure the folks at the legit RBL weren't happy about it. Especially as the pirate had the stronger signal. ;)

Boombox, you beat me to it.

Chris, you could use traps on both the dipole and the reflector to reduce the footprint. You would probably know better than I where to find online calculators for the coils.

I could see loops one and two in my near future. I've got PVC cut to nearly the same dimensions from loops gone by and more wire than the phone company.

Joe, do have a schematic/layout of the amp/tuner circuit?

thats basically PINK   did you dye yur hair for AL again

It is? I didn't know that. I thought mauve was the color of Bea Arthur's public hair back when she was above ground? (I don't want to imagine her pubic hair.)

Don't get him started.

Hah! That's what you think. I have no hair above the ears. Plenty in my ears, but none above. And it's mauve thank you very much.

No mention of Axis tire pressures?

6114
That explains a certain member of this board's behavior.

Pathology? I like to think of it as pest control.

Not a bit, but it might be my location? I'm on a hill.

There was a guy south of me who used, (I think?) an 80 meter vertical for dx'ing Europirates. His results were great. It was extremely well grounded as he used for ham work, too. Mine was just clamped to the spigot next to the house. It outperformed a double zepp I'd set up for the same purpose the year before. The zepp was actually the nosier of the two antennas.

Two, when the neighborhood Blue Hair Brigade starts acting up, the vertical can be pulled up for listening and lowered afterwards. Two minutes it's up, five seconds it's down.

LOL!!!  I was about to to tell you to smack Al for me.

They'll get my 5 gallon thrones when they pry 'em from my cold dead ass.

I'm on the FLOOOOOOR Pigmeat!  ;D ;D ;D

Glad you liked it, Fearless One.

Good to see you back,Outhouse! I've been wondering about you.

I wondered what happened to Skip Arey's column? It and George's "Outer Limits" were the two main reasons I read MT.

Unless MT had a technical article that interested me, I rarely bought it after George got the boot.

There's a local guy who salvages materials from old houses and resells them. Those old toilets go as soon as he gets them cleaned up.
