I understand you just acquired the old www.frn.net domain name for your Fansome Radio Network?

You must be thrilled, I know you've been working towards having that jewel in your crown for years. Enjoy it,you've earned it!

I blame snakeheads, introduced by Mao Tse Fansome.

General Radio Discussion / Re: Ray Manzarek of The Doors, 74

A couple of days before Manzarek's death, I happened to run across an interview with Robby Krieger on NPR while scanning the FM dial.

Robby didn't have many good things to say about Ray. He felt that Manzarek had exploited the mythos that sprung up around Jim Morrison's life in the wake of Morrison's death, with Ray as the official spokesperson,to make a nice living for himself.

You could hear the anger in Krieger's voice every time Manzarek was mentioned.

Never mind, you lesser Imp. George Jones came by with his riding lawnmower. The two of us duct-taped the mower to a couple of logs, creating a makeshift hovercraft.

When the Lord of The Underworld got wind of us tearing up and down the Styx at breakneck speeds he gave us the rights to run his ferry's on the spot. You're out of work,ol' Feller.

I've been dead for over a week and I'm still waiting for you to get your boat over here so I can take all the fun out of Hell.

BTW, I got a little hungry. I found a three headed dog wandering around,so I ate it. I hope it didn't belong to anyone?

Some of them are fisherman and truckers, others would probably be smugglers and the guys who hijack them.

You have to understand the both Caribbean and Pacific coasts of Central America are long existing, major corridors for cocaine smuggling into the United States. Hijacking smuggling boats is a thriving business in Nicaragua and Honduras.

Whoever they are,at my location, they're a nightly fixture in that range and have been for years.

But aren't we as a board, bent on the destruction of pirate radio? An old coot in Virginia Beach is convinced of it.

A lot of major prophets hail from that area, Edgar "Atlantis is Rising" Cayce, Pat "The Human Hurricane Barrier" Robertson and Pat "Earthquake" Murphy.

It's not often you find a collection of intellects of that quality in one city.

Notice that Al hasn't answered the question. I'm beginning to think Fansome has been impersonating a penguinologist for decades.

I was just wondering what happened to him after seeing his name while looking through an old ACE this past Sunday.

It's a shame to get news of him this way.

Spike bears a striking resemblance to a local groundhog of renown. Blood will tell.

I never knew the critters took to the the sea?

Hi Beerus,
I feel your pain, I really do. Sometimes, when I vacation out at our island cottage, off Salem, I have similar problems with WBZ. Par Electronics makes this Hi Pass Filter in a little aluminum box, called "Broadcast Eliminate - Hi Pass Filter" part #BCST-HPF. Using that it eliminated my
problems with WBZ. Sometimes, although not recently, I've had issues with WRKO 680 kHz. Their transmitter  is about 7 miles from here, and this filter did the trick as well. So, you might want to consider buying one of these.
The station could very well have an issue with their grounding system. I remember when someone stole WILD's grounding wire, they had images all over the place.  Par's phone # is 828-743-1338

It's interesting you mention the high pass filter Chris. When I was having the noise issues mentioned above, one of the few tricks that worked was using a MFJ random wire tuner in line w/ the receiver. I could tune out most of the images that way. The harmonics stayed nice and loud,of course, but I learned to live with it.
