Its nice and legible when not faded out.  I assume this is Radio True North that is still playing on this frequency.  Thanks! My mom was interested so she is listening. I like the song at 04:20 but I don't know the name. I'm not good with names.

I can't wait for some international!

I'm 95% sure I heard an ID, "Offshore Radio."

@ Echo

So that means you're not magic?  ???

It does sound like the gal from Torchwood.  It sounds like she says, "Do you have a gun?"

Nice reception! Its good considering its far away.
I mean I can tell what song it is (but I don't know its name).

And to think of how many hours I spent reading about better antennas today.  This random wire isn't bad.

Woo hoo, mentions of Joe Farley and me as well as other interesting pertinent info... Like how random wires are regarded by some as magical and akin to things such as reading tea leaves. Lovin' it.
I hear ya, my 4 year old was wondering why I was so excited :)  Its hard to explain to a kid.

Thanks for the show, you slowly faded out.  Hoping for a fade in.

635
Wow, how can you tell that?
I found Torchwood Series 2, Episode 13 on Netflix but it doesn't include an intro with that theme music.

I tuned to 6925 USB and heard some good signal!  Nothing but some Spanish speakers 1hr ago when the sun was still up.
At 1:22 UTC something about Carter and rolling papers.  Fading and inability to tune the USB made it difficult.
At 1:2X, Iron Maiden...I think thats their name.

At 1:40 reception got worse I heard a song with a black man's voice, but can't tell much. I can tell its music :)

And a happy Veteran's Day to you too, WPOD!

I hear some music now.  Sun just went down.  Nothing 40 min ago.  Some old 60s peaceful stuff.

Aw, thats nothin.  There's this guy that takes his surf goat to the beach and makes it surf board.  He's been on local TV.  But the way he hugs the thing and rolls with it on the ground...and that the goat is cool with it! Thats pretty discomforting.  Seen it with my own eyes. :-[

Dude, that guy who saved the lady was totally sparring with it afterwards!

Echo One, don't be afraid, I like goats, but I don't hump them.

Good point. I didn't think about that.  Luckily, I'm in a area with low man made noise.  One time I took my portable to the LA area. My hotel about 1/4 mile from the beach.  Reception with my whip antenna was picking of a lot of extra noise so I figured it was from the city. SW wasn't fun.  I remember finding some interesting MW stations.

I can't wait for my next electricity outage. I plan to check my radio during it to get a baseline of what it sounds like with nothin.

I watch goat videos too and I can vouch that the goat clip at 1:25 is the best one on youtube.

Eureka.  My Radio Shack DX 398 (same as Sangean ATS 909) has a "1-10" signal strength meter. It threw me off because I've also heard references to dB and my meter doesn't have that.  However, the wikipedia site cleared that all up.

My scientific side likes the SINPO rating.

My meter reminds me of the movie Spinal Tap when the guy is pointing out that his amplifier is better because it goes up to 11 instead of 10 like the other amps.

Hi, I'm new in these parts.  And I'm enjoying capturing pirate stations.  I would like to give the standardized reception report but I'm not sure what it is.  I see everybody giving "S" and a number in regards to signal strength.  What is it?

644
0036 I heard it here in California, the sun was still up.    Its signal could have been better. I liked the song at 0036, but I had to leave. I wonder what band it was.  What does WTFYWTCM stand for?

Ghost Busters
They just turned off at 0420. I think the DJ said they were going to move.

Pretty good signal here in California.
