For the foreign stations, we don't really know unless we can get an official station list from the respective countries. But your explanation is reasonable... and why I cannot possibly comprehend how the powers that be did not definitively define how a station identifies itself.

This is interesting. Up until recently, we haven't been getting all that many false decodes like this. Then in the past few days, we've been getting a lot. Granted, I also changed from "only type 6 and 9" to all of 'em, but that doesn't explain mine, and certainly would have no effect on yours.

Yeah, those three are quasi-regulars.

Soh & Pulau Satumu have me puzzled... they were decoded twice at the same time, to the second. Extremely odd.

What can I say. Pretty routine for the regular stations (or maybe less than routine). No fun daytime DX. But, all of these with 2 decodes...

The ones I found interesting are below, for varying definitions of "interesting".

The two claiming to be Soh & Pulau Satumu are prob false decodes from Upper Keweenaw.

The one from Shiriya Saki at 14:57:48  The other two stations (Miraflores & Point Loma) on 302 at that time are not coming in here during the afternoon. Or did one of them get up here, and it was a corrupt decode? Japan is UTC+9, so that would be 21:57:48 JST (and 8:57:48 CST here). That is middle of night there and after the end of grayline here. Doubtful it was valid.

Chris Kadlec, Michigan while in USA, mainly an FM DXer, has asked me to make sure MW DXers know about this. He has done amazing work researching the radio situation in Koreas! I am sure he would appreciate further publicity (Glenn Hauser)

After a long 14 months of work, I'm happy to present the completed Seoul AM Radio Listening Guide, a three-hour documentary broadcast exploring the Seoul AM band one frequency at a time, plus a look at the radio war on the Korean peninsula accompanied by a 115-page guide.

In addition to radio broadcasts from across East Asia, the broadcast includes Korean noise jammers and AM, FM, shortwave, and television propaganda broadcasts from both the north and the south, additionally outlined in a 25-page broadcast transcript and 115-page informational guide. It also includes:

* A comprehensive list of 260 East Asian AM stations, including station names, tower locations, distance and direction from Seoul, parallel FM frequencies, broadcast hours, and station website links.

* A full bandscan of 235 regular nightly skywave signals as heard after the sun sets over Seoul.

* Daytime groundwave bandscans taken from eleven different locations in the Seoul metro area, along the North Korean border, beside the sea, and in Korea's mountainous interior with background information about each location.

* A guide showing stations organized by their network affiliations in addition to privately-owned stations and networks. Alternatively, stations are also shown organized by country, region, and city.

* A chart showing signal strength for each bandscan - day and night - in bar graph format.

* A full colour-coded regional station map covering both skywave and groundwave signals.

From what I can find at Norwegian Communications Authority (Nkom), DAB+ will be operating 219-240 MHz band, freeing up 87.5-108 MHz. Let the par-tay begin!  No more interference.

I don't really think its noise getting lower.

What intrigues me more, is that my loop is N-S and these stations are off of the side. So - why? Skywave? Or are they getting much stronger? I do not know.
