Unfortunately I've never been able to hear Radio Serbia's English Service at all, so I'll definitely vigorously try to pick them up before June 30th, possibly try to record them while I'm at it.

Here's a little bit of information I found on the station from the HF Underground Wiki:

And here's a recording of the station from 2013"

Shortwave Broadcast / Re: WBCQ makes it Down Under

Haha, that's quite funny! As a matter of fact I was listening to that very same broadcast on my Tecsun PL-660 receiver, in Southern New York. 7490 was making it in quite strong, I'd guess around S9 +40 or so, and I will admit, that broadcast, while very entertaining, was quite opinionated! I as well had to listen in LSB to avoid R. Algerienne. WBCQ always has some entertaining material though, that's for sure.

Nice! I always enjoy listening to your shows, I bought time on WBCQ 5110 with my music program VORW, propagation is usually pretty decent and while it can fluctuate it often works out well.

Best of luck and if you're back on the air, I'll definitely be tuning in!

Picking it up pretty clear, some fading on my PL-660 in Southern New York.

Who should reception reports be sent to?

Heard them signing on at 0300 UTC this evening on 6110 kHz on my PL-660, decent signal here in New York.

I heard that same music box tune, I'm pretty sure that's their interval signal. I don't know how old it is though, it's my first time hearing it.

Shortwave Broadcast / Re: Global 24

Global 24 will be missed, undoubtedly, but at the same time I can't say I'm too fond of them for taking people's money, promising things in return but never holding to those promises.

Listening in New York, S7 signal.

For the past few days I have been noticing that Radio Kuwait's Arabic Service has been broadcast in place of the English Service on 15540 kHz. With propagation of this frequency still being poor at this time of year, I can only hear it from 1800 UTC to around 1900 UTC, both in New York using my own receiver and using the WebSDR in the Netherlands.

Of course, this may very well be a simple error with the feeds, but every day at 1830 UTC the English news bulletin is broadcast, and then at 1840 UTC the feed goes straight back to the Arabic Service.

Is this simply human error or is this their new English Service? I have no problems with their Arabic Service but I always enjoyed the musical variety their English Service provided.

My variety program will be on WBCQ every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 11:00 PM eastern time until 12:00 Midnight on 5110 kHz.

It's a program consisting of talk for the first 15 minutes (Misc. Discussion, News Headlines, Current Events) followed by music of various genres and time periods for the remaining 45 minutes.

E-mails can be sent to vorwinfo@gmail.com

I've had one show air already and I'll try to keep this going for as long as possible. I'm interested in seeing where this broadcast makes it to and how it comes in.

All the best,

I just can't resist....

Going to try to get a few shows on the air!

Here in Southern New York, Global 24 starts coming in rather clear between 5 PM (2200z) and 7 PM (0000z), and usually remains clear into the early morning. Usually I'll be able to pleasantly listen on my Tecsun PL-660 with just the telescopic antenna, in the afternoon I won't be able to hear the station, but with a little help from my portable reel antenna and I can pick up the station again.

There's such a wonderful selection of programs, it's great to see a station like this on the air. I've been listening every day, and I wish them all the best.

Weaker signal here in New York, periodically making it through the static on my PL-660.

Interesting, I did notice better reception than usual of Radio Kuwait and the Voice of America on the 19m band this afternoon, here in New York.
