The Voice of Greece with standard musical programming and talk in the Greek Language.

9420 kHz - 55555 very strong signal!!
9935 kHz - 55545 signal of near equal strength, more fading is observed in this transmission however.

Great signals and programming all around, audible in North America. Great to have the Voice of Greece here to keep me company this evening.

Radio Sultanate of Oman is a great station, I try to listen to their English Service every morning on 15140 kHz (if I'm awake enough!) and their programming and music variety never disappoints!

They remind me a lot of Radio Kuwait, which was my favorite station - so that's a little added bonus for me.

Very strong signal, SINPO of 55555 with news in Creole by a male announcer. VOA Interval Signal heard at 1958 UTC followed by immediate news about Hurricane Matthew at 2000 UTC.

Listening in Florida on my Tecsun PL-660 receiver, 30 ft long wire antenna.

The VOA now has several special transmissions in English and Creole for Haiti during and after Hurricane Matthew. These transmissions should provide some of the best VOA reception in North America in a long time. The schedule is below.

VOA emergency shortwave coverage for Haiti in Creole & English has started as follows via Greenville [North Carolina]:

2200-0200 7305 kHz
0200-1200 7405 kHz
1200-1630 9565 kHz

I've been listening to the 9565 kHz transmission for the last hour, armchair quality reception on my Tecsun PL-660 with the telescopic antenna only half extended. Signal is S9 +40 here in Florida, VOA English Service with news and music from 1400 - 1430 UTC, Creole News Broadcast from 1430 - 1440, now back with music at 1441.

Currently listening online (SW Reception is poor), great program - brings me back to when YHWH was transmitting as a pirate.

Shortwave Broadcast / Re: UNID 8060 AM at 0130 UTC, 7/11/16

Signal was received weakly here in Western Virginia at the time of 05:23 UTC on my Tecsun PL-660 receiver. I stepped outside and using the telescopic antenna exclusively, received a weak carrier, accompanied by weak audio. A male announcer was heard as was a brief  musical interlude.

Very interesting!

Great to hear such a good signal on 17830 kHz.

I believe you are hearing Dandal Kura Radio, a clandestine station broadcasting in Kanuri to Nigeria. It is transmitted from Ascension Island with a 250 kW transmitter/

I couldn't get to sleep so I decided to stay up and enjoy some excellent programming on Radio Australia's 9580 kHz broadcast.

Excellent news programming, very informative with a great signal SIO - 555, even CRI on 9570 kHz is being good today and isn't splattering all over the place. At least at my location!

Listening with my Tecsun PL-660 receiver, telescopic antenna exclusively, Southern New York.

I just got a tiny MW/FM/SW radio called the Eton Grundig Mini, it comes with a small telescopic antenna and I thought it'd be a good radio to use when I'm out and about so I don't have to lug the Tecsun PL-660 around with me.

I took an evening walk through a large corporate park and into the surrounding wooded area, as the skies darkened I turned my radio on and decided to see what I could pick up. Here's what accompanied me for my walk.

WBCQ 7490 kHz 01:16 UTC - Allan Weiner Worldwide, great signal SIO 555, talk about vintage radios and high power shortwave broadcast transmitters, mild fading. Even as I walked by a building emitting a lot of QRM, WBCQ stayed strong.

Radio Australia 17840 kHz 01:25 UTC - Interview with a classical composer, discussion about the means of composition as well as a classical piece. SIO 454, signal was best as I walked through the wooded area, began to experience whine as I neared a more developed area.

WHRI 5920 kHz 01:40 UTC - Christian music, female singer, plug for the "Harvest Show" with a detailed advertisement about what the aforementioned program consists of. SIO 555 excellent signal, very strong.

China Radio International 6020 kHz 9570 khz and 9580 kHz 01:45 UTC - Discussion of credit cards and other miscellaneous news items, all three frequencies were SIO 555, though 9570 kHz and 9580 kHz would sometimes interfere with each other.

Voice of Greece 9420 kHz 01:50 UTC (to the end at 02:15 UTC) - Excellent variety of greek music, some talk programs near the end, SIO was 555.

Reception from such a tiny radio was impressive, and it was lovely to have picked up some good stations to keep me company on my constitutional.

43
Listening in western Virginia, reception indoors on my Tecsun PL-660 is nonexistent, decent signal outside however. The weather's not the best so I'm currently listening on a Globaltuners Receiver in Indiana, decent signal on that with race coverage.

44
Finally! In my 4 years as an SWL I have been able to receive the Voice of Korea's English Service, signal is fair, peaking at S9 featuring a variety of North Korean music, ranging from classical to opera. Very nice easy listening music for a very nice morning.

Listening with the Tecsun PL-660 receiver, telescopic antenna only.

45
Went out to a store today and I was brazen enough to bring my Tecsun PL-660 with me, it was perched in the top compartment of the cart with the antenna partially extended, as I listened via headphones.

WRMI on 11580 kHz was the station of choice, lovely variety of all sorts of World Music from Chinese to South American, from Russian to African it all was there. They even threw in a few english tunes by "James Blunt" who was popular in the Mid 2000s.

Great program, SINPO of 5's across the board.
