Interesting!!!

I noticed that jonm posted a QSL for Toynbee Radio in the FRC last night, and that the broadcast date and time were specified as 12 Aug 2012 0320-0330z in AM mode.  This would be during the zoony afterglow following Wolverine Radio signoff, and jon was kind enough to verify that this was indeed the case, and that he dug it out of the pileup.

I checked my recording for this time period and noted that a het does come up around (best as I can determine) 0318:40, but no audio that I could detect; I was recording in USB at the time.

jon also ment that Toynbee said that this was one of 3 transmissions on that date.  If you have audio or SDR files for this date, you might want to give them another look-see as there might be a great catch in there.  I checked other files for that date but nada.

Thanks jon!

Likewise.  It was really in well at S9+5 or so, with nice audio and well-rendered sidebands in the waterfall.

Recorder Catches

Heard all of the QSOs, music, and SSTV mentioned in other posts in the Dueling Ops segment of tonight's fare; great!  Most at pretty good level, and thanks to all.

Of note to me was the appearance of "Devil's Lullaby" at 0415z; this is really a great tune, and a powerful ear worm.  Happy to have that one rattling around the brain this AM, and a Big Thanks to whoever aired that!

Here's a copy of all the audio captured here in Chicago between 0315 and 0437z.  Dead air has not been edited out.

Recorder Catch here.

Caught the complete show, and was really lucky that I was tuned spot-on.  Music as noted by others, but I especially appreciate the J Tull and Blind Faith tracks; I wore both those LPs down to vinyl dust in my ute.  Signal here averaged -50dBm peaks, and the resulting audio was close to the best I've ever gotten from WR; SSTV quality same as kilokat7.

Thanks Wolverine; great show!

12 Aug 2012 Recorder Catch

Start and stop times are fuzzy; could be either signal or audio fades.

0510 Came in mid Bob Seger - "Night Moves"
0514 "Radio Ga-Ga, pirate shortwave" ID followed by a block of music including Seger - "Her Strut", CSN - "Southern Cross", Dire S -
"Money 4 Nothing", Neil Young - "The Needle".
0527 Pink Floyd - "Wish You Were Here"
0531 faded out during the last song

Fair signal, but a bit fady.

Thanks RGG!

Recorder Catch on 6925.00 USB

Quick check of the file:

2332 - 2334z  "Warning! Bullschizzler alert!" audio clip as ment in a previous post, strong level
2340 - 2341z  guy blowing rhythmically into the mike, fair level
0016 - 0020z  unid song, weak, offtuned but kind of a metallo-psychedello track maybe
0023    ID as "Red Mercury Labs, 6925 Upper Side Band" weak and almost missed it
0031 - 0057z  block of  music including Dylan and Bowie at good level

I hear (or at least I did not detect) any IDs in all of this.

Thanks RML!

Recorder Catch on 6925USB

Same tune heard here.  No ID.  Good signal and audio.

Thanks!

Also heard here on a Recorder catch.

A couple of plugs for tonight's sponsor - Samuel Adams - and testing to see if the antenna apparati and combobulator are getting out.
Not as strong as usual but fair copy in storm noise.

Thanks RML!

Caught this last evening between times noted on 6925.070USB.  Starts out with what sounds like a QSO, then dial tones, shouting, audio clip "Warning! Warning!  Bullschizzler alert!" (available for download as a ring tone online), poss whistles and belches and maybe a fart thrown in for good measure, fragment of a haunting melody (poss speed enhanced) sung by a YL, sheep bleating, crickets, phone ringing, poss rutting hog SFX...you get the picture.  The QSO may have been independent and not related the all the SFX?

Have not had the time to listen in detail, but I wanted to post this before it got too old.  Maybe a test, but definitely entertaining!  I was not able to catch an ID.

Thanks!
