0136 Heard tail end of "Pink Panther" theme, ID.
Essentially OK at S3 when in the clear, but being bothered by frequent ute activity either sideband.
Having to move USB to LSB and back to hear this.
Seems 2B gone at or before 0142.

I took another look at the noise in the time domain with a scope.  I found that much to my embarrassment  the variable time base knob on the scope was not in the locked and calibrated position.  I have not used the scope since I last looked at the file, so anything I said about a 60Hz component is probably BS.  I have no problem falling on that sword, because I earned it.

The noise in general seems to consist of multiple grouped impulses of about 7 or so impulses per group.  There seems to be a period of typically 25mSec between groups, suggesting an underlying group frequency of about 40Hz or thereabouts.  This would definitely explain the "bassy" feel that has been expressed. 

My old scope is getting crusty, and I really wish that I had access to a DSO, but that is not currently an option.  Maybe looking at the file with an audio spectrum analyzer could reveal something.

At any rate, I struggle to think of how this noise ties a a common physical process.  Most likely not power infrastructure, but what?  DFing it with a portable might be the best bet.

Likewise Chris; I've noted pescs playing music, but I've only seen that in LSB so far.  I am pretty certain that this was AM, as was the longer TX the previous nite 20 Hz lower.  I could not ID the music due to sig strength; it seemed to be classic rock, possibly one song by the Moodies.  One of those things I guess.

Hadn't heard a trace of 2012, and was listening to Rave On here since 0052z.

0110 2012 came out of NOWHERE in a heartbeat to a blistering S9+20 with ID, dance mx.
0120 2012 disappeared in a second heartbeat mid-song

Came back from dinner to find Rave On here without any interference.  0052 ID, addy, request for reports, and back to the music.  Lou Reed "Sally Can't Dance", "Take  a Walk".

Not a great sig at S3 in mod noise, but far better than I've been able to hear ROR in a while.  

0110 Radio 2012 Int'l came out of nowhere at S9+20 burying Rave On.
