Longwave Loggings / 486 KHz Reginald Fessenden commemorative broadcast tonight

Brian, WA1ZMS, in Forest VA plans to re-run a replica of Reginald
Fessenden’s first aural transmission on New Year’s Eve; he first ran the
transmission on 486 kHz this past Christmas eve under the WD2XSH/31
experimental call sign, and I was able to hear the broadcast in
Pennsylvania. Please see the forwarded email below for the details of his
New Year's Eve transmission. Brian is active in 600 meter experimental work
and collects early wireless gear. You can see the transmitter that Brian

If you do log his station, I am sure he would appreciate a report.

0231z: Signal is taking a dive here, and static levels rising - bad combination!

North American MW Pirate Radio / 1720 & 1710 KHz late log: The Big Q 0525-0848 UTC 12/22/2012

1710 & 1720 SDR catches last night:

Great to hear the Big Q back with a better signal.  Not heard this well since last year during the holiday season.  Came on at 0525z as near as I can tell.  Radio Celestial from the Bronx was annoyingly strong here last night, about 25Hz to the high side of 1710.

1710 KHz:

0525z: Rick Nelson "Garden Party"
0527z: Big Q ID
0528z: Announcer describing switching from digital to analog processing equipment for a better quality AM sound, new antenna array, etc. with clever audio voice-overs tossed in.
0529z: Announcer "Midnight Man" talking up the GE Superadio, signal abruptly dropped giving way to Radio Celestial again, technical issue I assume.

1720 KHz:

0808z: Noted back again, but on 1720, with massive AM carrier and high pitched test tones, and unobstructed signal thanks to the clear channel.  I bet this would have been widely heard on this frequency if people had known to listen.  Christmas oldies, slick jingles, and very nice quality 20 Khz wide audio.

3300 (the strongest with corresponding weaker "phantom" pips also noted +/- 3 KHz)

Also heard via some remotes in the Eastern US, nothing heard in Europe.  All off at 0331 UTC.

Nothing heard on the frequencies that Chris posted on 12/5.
