Ha, just tuned in and caught a clear "Radio Abu Dhabi" ID and much laughter :-)  S4-S5, the live IDs are coming through a bit better than the music.

Very good signal here tonight with OM DJ reading listener messages, answering questions about the transmitter and mentioned the 6205 frequency.  Pop music right now at 0052z.

This one was hanging around later than usual this morning, well after my local sunrise.  English language with an American accented preacher hawking "The book of revelation, unveiled" with 1-800 toll free number.  The program was clearly aimed towards an American audience, but seems odd a PNG station would be airing something like this.  Are they selling air-time?  Abruptly off mid-program at 1231 UTC.  Poor but audible 30 minutes after my local sunrise, and strong via Australian remote Perseus.

Shortwave Broadcast / TENT Radio Candip 5066.3 0345 UTC 10/4/2014

Thanks to jfarley for the suggestion, a tentative Radio Candip was heard here last night on 5066.3 kHz.  I started checking for it at 0330z sign-on (according to EiBi).  Nothing heard, not even a faint carrier.  Checked back at 0340z and still nothing.  When I returned at 0344z, I was surprised to not only see a carrier but also hear the sounds of faint music coming from the weak signal.  Heard best using the North D-Kaz.  Signal faded after 0410z, which coincides with the sun coming up there.  Pretty short window to catch this one!

Occasional audio here, blues tune heard at 1829z, weak and just above the noise floor.  1830z and into another bluesy song after short announcement.

I've been listening to this signal slowly build for the last hour now.  Nice blues music, John Lee Hooker & Bonnie Raitt "I'm in the mood" at 1922z.

1234z: someone else just came on a few hz above Sluwe causing a mess on the channel now.

Equipment / Re: Directional Antenna (Loop?) for NAVTEX 518 kHz

I put up a new "double kaz" delta loop for North - South reception recently.  Though intended for MW reception, the signal gain really falls off towards the lower end of the MW band, but otherwise it's highly directional with good rejection off the sides.  I just bought a preamp which should help on the lower frequencies.  I'm looking forward to see if it'll pull in some new stuff on 490/518 this winter.
