Large test carrier noted and sign on at 0118 UTC.  S9 at the moment.  Looking forward to the rest of the show tonight.

0156 UTC: I'm also hearing Wolverine faintly on the Moscow (remote) Perseus SDR.  Amazing since Moscow is getting into daylight now!  Also doing well into Poland.

677
James Stewart show, mentions of WBNY.  S7 signal, good copy here.

Here's a 22 minute recording of what this sounded like in C-QUAM stereo with the bandwidth wide-open, S7-S8 signal at the beginning of this:

6945 kHz X-FM C-QUAM STEREO 0303-0322 UTC 05JL14.mp3

Due to the summer noise, Sodira had a rough time locking onto the C-QUAM pilot at times, but X-FM's quality audio still shines through.  I hope other listeners with SDRs are taking advantage.

Great show Redhat!

Back, but now at 6974 LSB @ 0516z, S6-S7, assuming this is the same station.

0522z: Doors "L.A. Woman"

Listening to X-FM down on '45 and noticed this on the waterfall.  Looked too strong for a pesky.  Bluesy rock tune right now at 0502z.  S5-S6  Off mid-song at 0503z.

681
Just turned the radio on and found X-FM on 6945.  Great audio as usual with S6-S7 signal over moderate static.

Looking forward to decoding the C-QUAM from the SDR recording, which has been running all night.

Great to hear you again!

S6-S8 punk music over the static tonight.  Just signed on.

683
Just signing on with IS and email address.  S6-S7 over heavy static.

0157z: Boombox Shortwave ID, "Breakfast with Boombox"
0229z: Off mid-song

Thanks for the tunes tonight BBR!

Nice catches... esp those from the deep south.

Thanks.  Now that I got a taste of it, I want more!

I hardly listen to the FM dial, let alone DX it, so this is all new territory for me, especially the Es logs.  Some tropo logs here too, heard from West Michigan:

92.3 WZPW Peoria, IL. with urban music
93.5 "93 Rock", so probably WRQE Appleton/Green Bay, WI.
93.9 WMTM Moultrie, GA.
94.3 WTIX New Orleans, LA.
94.3 WIZB "Joy FM" Abbeville, AL.
94.3 UNID K-LOVE
94.7 UNID K-LOVE
94.7 WZOR "Razer 94.7" Green Bay, WI.
94.9 WGUO "Gumbo FM", Reserve, LA.
95.7 UNID w/ ad for Golf Smith (this surely wasn't local to me)
96.7 With mention of Highway 10 & Steven's Point, so probably WHTQ Whiting, WI.
97.7 UNID ESPN Sports mixing with black gospel music

There were others up and down the dial, but I only made notes on those listed above.

Weak copy but signature creepy interval music right now at 0430z.  Thanks to #wunclub tip.  Just caught the very end (as usual).  Carrier off at 0432z.

I'm fairly certain the RFI that I suffer from (it comes and goes) is also caused by a grow op.  Using a portable, it was easily traced to a nearby neighbor.  12 hours on, 12 hours off, saw-tooth waveform, and the most the horrid interference that you'll ever encounter affecting LW through 30  mhz.  Luckily for me, the 12 hour "on period" occurs during daylight hours.  This is what it sounds (and looks) like:

XLR8 ID @ 0430z and back into punk metal.  S6 over heavy summer static.

S9+10 with excellent fidelity and excellent music.  Sounds great on the big speakers.  Thanks Wolverine!
