« on: May 26, 2014, 1321 UTC »
Just got this a little while ago for my email and HFU posting! Thank you very much VOH op! Very happy to get this and I hope you have a great Memorial Day with family and friends! Hope to hear you again for many years to come! Superb graphics on the QSL and yes, they ran throught the briars and they ran through the brambles!
Also, thanks for the set list!

Something here at 0121 UTC with intermittent signal.
0122 UTC Powerhouse S9+ signal now with blues song by lady singer
0124 UTC Man announcer with badly distorted signal breaking up, into song by lady singer also distorted.
Ooops....6950 KHZ...don't know if I was tuned to the wrong frequency or Wolverine switched from 6952 to 6950!
Nope....I listened back to the recording and just after the Wolverine Radio ID at 0124, a mans voice was heard saying..."back to 50 where it's supposed to be". A rare moment of Wolverine Radio op actually speaking! Cool! :o Signal distorted after that because he switched to 6950 and I had to retune!
0150 UTC Whopping signal here at S9+20 at peaks!!!

Pirate Patriotic sounding tune at 0026 UTC with S9 signal here well over the static and noise floor!
0027 UTC Man announcer with ID "This is the Voice of Honor", then email address into "Battle of New Orleans"
0030 UTC Man announcer with ID as before...coming to you this Memorial Day Weekend, into "Yankee Doodle Dandy"
0033 UTC ID and frequency, email address..."send your reports to
voiceofhonor@gmail.com followed by fife and drum tune.
0042 UTC ID, then a recreation of the original vote of the 13 colonies, followed by SSTV and off at 0045 UTC.
(I hope someone posts the picture from the SSTV here, because I don't have the capability to decode it!)
Thanks for the Memorial Day Show Voice of Honor op!
(Thanks for the SSTV image myteaquinn! I believe that is the "Don't Tread on Me" logo.)

The mysterious old time radio is on again with fair signal here above a rather low noise floor. Anyone have any ideas on this? Tuned in at 2225 UTC....Lone Ranger. S5-S6 signal with good copy.
2232 UTC Signal dropped down a bit, just above noise floor.
2322 UTC Still going, but not strong enough for good copy...I wonder if it was like this in the old days, straining through the noise on the old family console...
0022 UTC Still going! Tough copy, but audible above the noise.

Shortwave Pirate / RFW 6924.4 AM KHZ 2339 UTC MAY 15, 2014

Sign-on with Soviet Anthem at 2339 UTC into "Remote Broadcast" show. Music request for Chris Lobdell. Nice S8 signal here with wide band audio.
0022 UTC Song "Whatever"-Oasis ( Hey, DJ DW...how about a theme program with songs using the word Whatever! It could be in the title or maybe even prominently in the song....just an idea....)
Off abruptly at 0027 UTC
(Thanks for the Thursday evening show tonight Mr. Weed!)

Thank you very much Island Radio op!!! :) I love the graphics on this and I believe it's my first QSL from Ireland since Radio Dublin in the 1980's! Also special thanks to Irish Paul for help with the proper email address!

Thanks everyone at Rave On Radio! Wasn't expecting this one for my weak HFU log...Always appreciated and hope to hear you again soon!

0017 UTC Man announcer ..."WMID...all music...all the time...WMID...WMID" then off!
(Thanks for the show WMID op!!!Good start to the evening by the radio....audio was clear and signal was S7 here.)

Awesome QSL for that special morning broadcast in the 49 meter band with PRB duking it out with the heavy hitter on 6150 from the land down under. And the winner is.... ??? Much appreciated Mr. Loudenboomer! Looking forward to a rematch!

« on: April 30, 2014, 2318 UTC »
Received a nice suitable for framing QSL certificate in the mail today for my April 1, 2014 reception of AMR-All Music Radio on 6949 Khz. Similar in design to the one I received for the PRB relays-Radio Free Whatever QSL a little while back.
Many thanks to Mr R Pistek! ;D

I'm hearing some audio on about 6221 KHZ here just above the noise floor since 2302 UTC with man announcer at 2304 UTC. Best here in USB....No ID on songs until 2321 UTC with "My Sharona"-The Knack.
Since 2330 UTC some nice peaks during the songs played...."Easy Like Sunday Morning", "All Day and All of the Night"-Kinks, "Rocky Mountain Way"-Joe Walsh, "Cold Turkey"-John Lennon, "Blinded By the Light"-Manfred Mann, "What Becomes of the Broken Hearted". Man announcer with ID's that I can't make out, but I did hear mention of 6221 KHZ at 2352 and 2359 UTC.
{I thought they ID'd as Iceland Radio, but thanks for the proper ID from refmo!}

EDIT- Listened back on the cassette tape this morning and several clear ID's of "Island Radio on 6221 Kilohertz". Also ID'd some more tunes...amazing what you can do with a simple 7 band graphic equalizer...old technology works for me! SDR and Shazam are simply not in the budget for the foreseeable future...
