Here also at 0129 UTC. Sounded like someone paying tribute to "Talk Like a Pirate" Day ;D
Off at 0131 UTC. Just above the noise level here...hmmm...
Thanks gaga!

Tuned in to a parody of Jingle Bells at 2348 UTC..."Dashing through the snow, in my rusty Chevrolet"
2350 UTC "Convoy"
Signal is about an S5 here, well above the noise and miminal fading. Some pesky QRM bleeding in from LSB
2354 UTC "Cruising Together"-Huey Lewis and Gwyneth Paltrow?
2358 UTC Loon, Cardinal & other bird sounds followed by Lady Announcer with "You're listening to Northwoods Radio..."
( Thanks for the show tonight Northwoods! Always nice to hear you :) )

The real world mailman brought me the finest QSL I've ever received in my decades of on and off shortwave listening. I opened up the Priority Mail carton and inside was Captain Morgan QSL # 124. A real operational wall clock with full data! Thank you very much Captain Morgan ;D  ;D It wall occupy a prominent place on my pirate Wall of Fame right above the NRD-515! From now on all my loggings will be in "Pirate Zone" standard time... :) Awesome!!!

Open carrier at 2320 UTC, test tones at 2321 UTC, then ambient music at 2322 UTC Just at or above the noise floor here.
2327 UTC Seems to have gone missing

Our old friend turned up here tonight....first time I've heard them on this frequency. Very weak but fading in above the noise now and then. Thanks for the confirmation on this kilokat :) I wasn't sure until the Lucky Strike commercial.

Good copy on the signal here at 2205 UTC tune-in with "The Wind Cries Mary"-Jimi Hendrix", into "Freedom"-Jimi Hendrix.
2210 UTC Man announcer
2211 UTC Guitar rock instrumental followed by a 60's blues/rock tune...."I Just Don't Know"?
2218 UTC Man announcer with ID, email address for reports, then OFF

Hmmm...a trip to the local ASPCA would probably yield at least a half dozen abandoned pitbulls who would love to patrol your backyard and be your life long friend and protector for a plate of Alpo, water, and an affectionate  pat on the head... ;)

JOE SAMPLE R.I.P. 1939-2014

Joe Sample, who became a jazz star in the 1960s as the pianist with the Jazz Crusaders and an even bigger star a decade later when he began playing electric keyboards and the group simplified its name to the Crusaders, died on September 12, 2014 in Houston. He was 75. The cause was mesothelioma (cancer of the lungs), said his manager, Patrick Rains. Among the albums on which his keyboard work can be heard are Marvin Gayeís Whatís Going On, Joni Mitchellís Court and Spark and The Hissing of Summer Lawns, Tina Turnerís Private Dancer, Steely Danís Aja and Gaucho, and several recordings by BB King.

I had the good fortune to see him with the Crusaders opening up for the Rolling Stones in Boston Garden during the 1975 Stones tour. I had never heard of them at the time, but I was immediately impressed as soon as they started the opening number of the show. There was no question that the audience was also very impressed....they blew the walls out of the building!

Thanks Chris S :) I do believe that is the best approximation of the email address I am hearing over and over again...and it didn't bounce! But then a couple of other combinations of letters didn't either ???
Oh well, I'm sure I've ended up in someone's spam box a few times ;D
