General Radio Discussion / Duracell 6V

I was made to believe that this is the battery used for my Yaesu 857D. I intend to set my radio to 90 or 95 watts (12 multiplied by 7Ah; Power = voltage multiplied by current). Can I use a 6 V Duracell battery? What is positive or negative in the black and red wire of  my Yaesu? ( I got it. Red is (+); Black in (-). Many thanks.

Here's the Duracell 6V battery:

General Radio Discussion / Ladderline 160M

The only way I can think of installing this antenna is to connect it with a Par Fez End 40 meter antenna taped on the ceiling while the ladder line is also connected opposite and taped all around the ceiling of my apartment. I got the tip from my friend in amateur club. All he said, "we'll tape it all around your ceiling". What are the drawbacks? Since it is connected inside  my apartment, will it offset any excess length to accurately tune it to a frequency below 160 meters? What will I do with the antenna to tune to 80 meters or 50 meters? I intend not to follow the instructions in the  manual for lack of space and for apartment restrictions. Is there anyway I can install this antenna effectively? Thank you for all your support.

Huh? / What I Got for One Lap Dance

WHAT I GOT FOR ONE LAP DANCE

A friend of mine saw a drop of tear
On my cheek as my sad fate drew near
Caught in my act as I succumbed to a dance
Please I said, 'Give me a chance'
I had forgiven you thrice
This time I will no longer be nice
No more names like sweetheart or sweetie
Because you cheat on me with impunity!

Do not spend with no money inside the coffers - ladderline to Olivia Chow, losing left wing mayoral candidate. The people of Toronto are not stupid the way she makes them appear. Cut taxes, too, to entice domestic and foreign investments. Hence, more employment and more taxes. More taxes, more revenues. More revenues, more welfare.

Huh? / Look What You've Done (made a fool of everyone)

I was lucky to be invited at Parliament Hill
My feelings drifted from gloom to thrill
What was I going to wear on that ballroom dance
On which everyone was eager to get his chance
A Member of Parliament took the time to invite
Me to a dance dressed the fanciest that night
I made a polite hand gesture of rejection
That caused her melancholy and dejection
I'm sorry ma'm but I'm looked down upon as a leper
A "communist " like me deserves only to be a househelper
Manning the kitchen and serving (pause)
Well, I'm a leper too, ladderline, underserving
Answers resonated into their sensitive cochleas to hear
Caused their conscious minds to remain astir
Thus were convinced of our 'zeal' such that we can tease
That we were made "Party members" with such ease

A tale about me and my Cuban dictated girlfriend. I did not know wiretaps were in place. They got nothing to do. They turned it to a novel.. ;D No bull!

Mossad finds it abhorrent to sleep with the enemy. I don't. Consorting with a terrorist is not against the law. ;D

Equipment / What to do with ParEndFedz antenna & ladderline
« on: October 22, 2014, 2257 UTC »
Connected to my coax cable is about 40 feet of ParEndFedz. If I connect this 40 feet in the opposite direction to 50 feet of ladderline or 70 feet of ladderline, taped around the walls near the ceiling, what would the effect be on my Yaesu 857-D at 5 - 7 Mhz? What if I let the ladderline fall from my hotel balcony down to the balconey near to the ground? What if I let the ladderline hanged to the end of my room down from the balconey? What are the best angles? What are the best sizes (of ladderline and ParEndFedz)? I am new to the hobby. Please bear with me. I do not intend to transmit but only listen. I am asking about ladderline because it has twin wires and one of my colleagues was (I don't know if he was joking) joking that it might 'kaboom'.. And I am cognizant of the fact that the length can be measured by 300 divided by the frequency. (but it has twin wires)..
