KOREA SOUTH. 5920, Voice of Freedom. Thanks very much to Amano (Japan) for his fantastic monitoring of VOF
and finding their new format with a complete list of VOF programs. Taking my directions from him, on Jan 7, I heard
QRM from N. Korea jamming and after the "Hamkke tteonaneun eum-ag-yeohaeng" (Let's go music together) program,
there was the new format with VOF broadcasting their 2023 program guide.

I normally listened, is now closed due to the flooding/damage done by the recent storms.

ETHIOPIA. 7110, Radio Ethiopia (Home Service), 1439-1500* UT. Some HOA music; segment with phone
conversations; very brief ID at sign-off (not the usual IS/gong/ID that I had heard in the past). Has been a
long time since I last checked on this and I'm very pleased to find this with nice long path reception, as
well as grayline reception; my local sunrise was at 1509 UT, with Addis Ababa sunset at 1506 UT. My

KOREA SOUTH: Echo of Hope - VOH, heard on 3980 // 4885 // 5990 // 6250 // 6348 // 9100 kHz. from starting
at 1123 to finishing at 1155 UT, Nov 6 (Sunday); started and ended with the usual theme music, for the weekend
only program of the English language lesson with the reading of a portion of Chapter 6 of "Harry Potter and the
Sorcerer's Stone," along with lengthy explanations in Korean. The usual good reception; my ten minute unedited

Monday (Nov 7), at 0923 & 1020 UT, surprised to find no change from last week. Will they change frequencies
during the week?

simultaneous translation into Spanish; fairly readable.

6017.0, Organización Radial El Prado (thanks to Rafael Rodriguez R. [Colombia] for the ID), running late, from tune
in at 0516 UT till off shortly after 0705, on Sept 24 (Saturday). Non-stop LA music (no announcements or time checks
heard).

Sept 7 - After 0659* UT on 7932 kHz., I went looking for Vanuatu. Not on the usual frequencies.

Found Radio Vanuatu on new 8620.22 kHz., as measured on my old Eton E1 (am sure someone can
get a more accurate measurement!); mostly fair; // 4310.11 (poor) // 12930.33 (very poor).

0705-0716 UT: News/sports in Bislama.

0731-0801: Interview in English about investments (talking about gov't bonds, National Bank, low interest
rate loans, interest rates, "Investments not all in one basket," etc.).

0802+: Speech in Bislama about domestic violence in Vanuatu, violence against women, Vanuatu's Women
Center, etc. 

Wonder how they are coming up with these strange frequencies?

Aug 15 (Monday) observations:

Korea: Voice of Freedom: 5920, not jammed, but moderate QRN, at 1150 UT.
Aug 11, was the first day VOF was on 5920 (ex: 6045) and found strong QRM from 1300 to 1400 UT, from Shiokaze/Sea Breeze.
On 6045 & 6135, super jamming from N. Korea against no known stations. 
 
Frequencies for this week (Aug 15-21 [Mon-Sun]):

Echo of Hope - VOH: 3990 // 4885 // 6000 // 6250 // 6355 // 9100, at 1140 UT, with weekday only English language lessons.
On Aug 14 (Sunday), the VOH weekend only program at 1125 UT, with the reading of the "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone"
story in English, with lengthy explanations in Korea.

Voice of the People: 3480 // 3910 // 3930 (these three were fair with no jamming) // 4450 // 6520 // 6600, at 1145 UT.

VANUATU. 11835 (3rd harmonic), Radio Vanuatu, 0631-0820 UT, July 31 (Sunday). Outstanding reception!
Some highlights, with several items about yesterday's 42nd Independence Day celebrations and various
music, including religious (Christian) songs in English for this Sunday. Certainly one of their better days!

0631-0637: ID; local time check; weather for the various provinces (min/max temperatures [C] and wind speed/direction).

0645: Health info about Hepatitis virus B (also please see 0731 program).

0651-0700: Series of PSAs (COVID, mental health, etc.), promo (listen to BBCWS in Port Vila on 104 FM), social media
events in Vanuatu, etc.

0700-0713: ID & frequencies; news/sports bulletin in Bislama (sound bite of Prime Minister Salwai's speech to a graduating
class in Port Vila; item about yesterday's Independence Day celebrations, sound bite (Australian accent) in English about
trade competition with China [my audio clip -  https://bit.ly/3zkKSE7 ]; etc.).

0731-0800: Interview with doctor regarding "World Hepatitis Day" (July 28) and segment of phone calls from listeners
with health questions.

Voice of the People: Some good news; several of their frequencies have not been jammed for over a week now;
3480 (as usual, not jammed) // 3910 (good - not jammed now) // 3930 (good - not jammed now) // 4450 // 6520 // 6600,
at 1318 UT on July 26; heard a program I was not familiar with. My 3910 audio - https://bit.ly/3cyjWca . Surprised at
1520 to find VOP clearly off the air on 3480, 3910, 3930, 4450 (not sure about 6520 & 6600).

KOREA. July 11 (Monday) observations:

Echo of Hope - VOH: 3985 // 4890 // 5995 // 6255 // 6350 // 9105, from 1122 to 1150 UT; the EBS TV audio feed for the English
language lesson "Wang cho bo yeong-eo," which is always aired only on weekdays; intro and exit theme song is the "Party Will
Come Alive" by Wizardz Of Oz (with Ruben Martinez); the usual intro with announcer saying "English trainer" and gives his name
("Mayu"), then the woman announcer says her name ("Mini"); "Is there a Wi-Fi here? Can you please provide me with the
password?", "You can use it for free. There is no password"; later at 1241, with the EBS news headlines and news stories in
English and Korean. These frequencies should be good through July 17 (Sun.)

VOP: 3480 // 3910 // 3930 // 4450 // 6520 // 6600, at 1125 UT. As usual, it has been a long time now with no changes!

Shiokaze/Sea Breeze: 5920 // 6040, at *1300 UT, from Yamata (Japan). Continues to be free from N. Korea jamming!
Strong 6040 causing QRM for Yunnan Radio International (China) on 6035, in Vietnamese.

Voice of Freedom: 6045, at 1130 UT; poor due to N. Korea super jamming, along with pulsating noise jamming. Super
jamming was also noted on 6135, against no known station.

Echo of Unification, 3945 // 5905, both fair at 1220 UT.

audio feed of a English language lesson from TV program "Wang cho bo yeong-eo", with "Mayu"
and "Mini." These frequencies should be good through May 15 (Sunday).

Voice of Freedom (5920), fair at 1200 UT; the usual single tone; then "Jayu-e solibangsong-eseo
bam 9 (ahob) sileul allyeodeulibnida." (In English - Voice of Freedom has announced 9pm); nice

INDONESIA. 3325, Voice of Indonesia, via Palangkaraya. As Bruce Churchill noted yesterday (Apr 25) in
WOR iog, VOI is having serious issues regarding their audio feed from Jakarta; partially fixed today (Apr 26);
heard from 1246 UT till audio feed ended at 1329. Today had decent signal strength and was mostly readable.
My local sunrise was at 1319 UT.

1246-1300 UT: In Japanese.

1301-1317, start of English segment; news; at 1310, "Commentary," with a message that the gov't has given
permission for people to be able to return to their hometown for the celebration of Eid al-Fitr (official holiday to
celebrate the end of the month long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan), still some concerns about COVID-19
and gave vaccination requirements; 1315-1317, the national song “Bagimu Negeri.”

1317: Program "Today in History"; this date in 1959, Soewardi Soerjaningrat died, who was the father of Indonesian
national education; this date in 1986, the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster happened; this date in 2000, the first
World Intellectual Property Day was observed.

1321: COVID PSA given in a multitude of languages (Indonesian, Arabic, Japanese, English [help stop the spread of
COVID by wearing your mask properly] and many other languages).

1327: Program "My Indonesia."

1329: Audio feed lost; just a strong open carrier heard; dead air. Randomly checked through 1404, but audio never
returned, just the open carrier heard.

Monday - April 18: This weeks Echo of Hope - VOH frequencies: 3990 // 4885 // 6000 // 6250 // 6355 // 9100;
noted at 0953 UT, with Britney Spears song "Oops!...I Did It Again"; all frequencies good-fair with no jamming,
but by 1121, all were jammed except 6000 & 9100. Programming is on a four hour loop, so will be repeated
again in four hours. Frequencies should be good through Sunday (April 24).
 
Voice of the People with no changes this week (as usual):
3480 (not jammed, so always with the best reception) // 3910 // 3930 // 4450 // 6520 // 6600, at 1125 UT.
 
Voice of Freedom is now on 5920 (ex: 6045), at 0907 UT and also with pulsating jamming from N. Korea;
while ex 6045 continues with their long standing super jamming (never changes).

VANUATU. 7260, Radio Vanuatu, 0541-0559* UT, on Apr 15. Poor reception; mostly C&W songs in English; 0558,
start of a radio drama.

11835 (3rd harmonic), Radio Vanuatu, started *0559 UT till tuned out at 0730, on Apr 15. Best recent reception so far;
mostly readable; also // 7890 (2nd harmonic), but not as good. Here are a few highlights:

0628: PSA for applying for the "Australia Awards Scholarships"; due to COVID, closing date for applications has been
extended to April 29 ( https://australiaawardsvanuatu.org/ ).

0630: Musical montage ID; "Radio Vanuatu . . Kingdom of Tonga . . Solomon Islands . . Voice of Papua New Guinea . .";
followed by ID for "Vois Blong Yumi." My audio is at https://bit.ly/36fw0fI .

0659: Commercial announcement for "IDA Pacific" pharmaceutical company, distributor of "IDA Foundation" products;
into the news/sports/weather in Bislama ("one more COVID death"; now seven deaths due to COVID, with 184 new
