SDR - Software Defined Radio / Re: RX-888 Unboxing and mini-review

The lack of FPGA makes me have to walk away. The price is good for a 16-bit unit...but not when I have to do massive hardware upgrades.

A little over S9 here in to Northern Virginia. Lots of QSB and QRM making things interesting.

(I had to rob the SDCard out of my radio for a RPi project.)

Just came across this by accident here just south of DC in Northern Virginia. S5 to S9+10, lots of QSB.

About 1700 was playing Falco - Rock Me Amadeus
1702: THX ID - stated 25 watts.
1704: A Black In Black Mashup/remix
1711: Peter Frampton - Do You Feel Like We Do

I caught the very tail-end of the transmission..I was scrolling around 40m digital and had khz step on and overshot. The ended with a SSTV transmission before Star Spangled Banner. It was a good S7 here in Northern Virginia, but lots of static crashes.

Fading S7 here. HArd to understand because it seems to be overloading the transmitter. Signal is also fading quite a bit.

Very tinny. Punk rock. Fading between S0 and S4 in to Northern Virginia, sometimes S5. Some static crashing.

song change at 2250.

Fading in and out here in NoVA...sounds really good..then fades to nothing. Just played Monty Python skit before ID. Not sure what this is; in the middle of a fade-out.

The Eagles - Take It Easy intro....

Paul Revere and the Raiders - Indian Reservation

LAst song played was Bread - Guitar Man, then signoffs, 0304.

9
Same bat-time...same bat-channel!

Really weak here in Northern VA, not much more than carrier. Very faint voices. Can tell by the accents and laughter it's Old Time Radio.

10
Yes, a little over modulated

I think he might be overloading the input more than overmodulating...this signal isn't looking like overmodulated on the SDR.

I have them at 6924.106 KHz
02:07 "Won't Get Fooled Again" - The Who
02:08 "Jumpin Jack Flash -  Stones

Gotcha; that's about where they are on my end so I wasn't sure if my dongle was just *way* out of alignment again or what.

Band On The Run @ about 0212

Barely a carrier here in Northern Virginia.

Just started Walk On The Wild Side.

Not sure if this is 6925 or 9624, I'm gettin it closer to 6924.

Fading in and out here in Northern Virginia. On a less RF-leaking laptop than normal, so better SDR performance here.

Was just able to make out intro to Amos and Andy.

Still *really* noisy here; getting better though.

Somewhere down in the noise on my SDR, I'm hearing Old Time Radio around 6770khz. This is my best guess, I hear laughter and things that would make me think it's Old Time Radio; plus that tends to be it's favorite frequency.

I can't identify what show it is; current voice I can hear reminds me of Mickey Mouse...but it's not high pitched enough. Just can't pull it out here in Northern Virginia yet.
