General Radio Discussion / Re: Morse Code Trainer
« on: March 24, 2017, 0129 UTC »
If you have fldigi you can always copy some text into it and tell it to transmit. Just be sure you have it hooked to a speaker and not keying the rig..
And RYRYRYRYRY is east to copy in your heat at 50 bd.

137
Just barely above of even with the noise. The static crashes make it hard to copy. Checked lightningmaps.org and they seem to be eastern and offshore North Carolina

138
About 1 S unit above the noise here. Some QSB but easy to copy.
SSTV received at 0130

Thanks for the show and great SSTV pic.

From their website

I did not see a date on the letter or web page so this may be old news. In any event, it is bad news.

To get to the other side

Penguins again (still?)

OOPS. Sorry for double pics, but then again you can never have to many penguins, Eh?

143
Great signal, started at a solid S7 way above the noise at 0140 them faded to S5 and back to S7.
ID Wolverine Radio at 0145.

0200Z Edit to add just sent two SSTV images, perfect reception. No noise at all.

Just above the noise, QSB and higher on peaks. Bobby Gentry singing Tallahatchee Bridge.

Things are good. 73 deg but cloudy so I missed seeing the ISS go over earlier. Maybe a bit of rain later tonight. The big news here is I worked a new country (for me) on 40 meters at 0204Z. Andorra, in the mountains on the border between Spain and France. I don't have a big antenna, only the HyGain vertical.  Run 3-400 watts to try to compensate for the antenna.
Be sure to try the bacon trick with the cornbread.

Yes on the ham hocks. Pork fat rules. And serve with cornbread. If you cook your cornbread in a cast iron skillet (is there any other way?) line it with bacon prior to pouring the mix in. Mmmmmm

Pretty much the same but I use hickory since I can't get free apple or cherry. I do baste with a 50-50 mic of apple juice and white wine from a spray bottle. Sauce is for the table, if at all. Good tip on the silver skin. I use paper towels and just pull it off after getting it started

148
Good copy from about 0200, S9. Wasn't hearing anything earlier.

Should I put my hurricane shutters up?
