Tesla was also working on wireless, he had his hands in a whole lot of stuff.

Tesla demonstrated a radio controlled boat. In 1898.

I've got a book of his patents and it's fing huge, he was interested in just about everything it seems. Also, his autobiography, however short, is a must read.

The RF Workbench / Re: Improving my loops

Or you could just try it open ended, and then with a simple wire aka aligator clips to short the end. 0 ohms is close enough to 50 ohms for broadband rx porpoises.

How can one not love a breast-themed station?

If I end up in hell I just know they'll be playing hiphop.

I think modern country music is much more likely. No creativity whatsoever. But then again, that's really true of any popular music these days. It just seems ESPECIALLY true of country.

Agreed. Now they just need autotune and Nicki Minaj to write their lyrics.

A customer at work mentioned how she went on a fat diet and lost 13 pounds so far. Fat as in meats, butter, etc but low carbs. Also note that the Inuit and other peoples who lived off pretty much whale blubber had no heart disease, obesity, or cancer until they gave up raw food for the processed food the explorers revealed to them.

Huh? / Re: Al, we both know that SDR's are Satan's scanners.....

When I use my sdrs for digital mode decoding I don't need a knob, however, when I want to listen to voice modes and cruise the band via the sdr rigs I'm frustrated by the lack of same. I've been pestering a manufacturer of low cost radio doodads to roll out a cheap but cheerfull tuning knob and they're looking it over. There's a few vids on youtoob where a guy took apart a mice and used its optoencoder to make a tuning knob, so it can be done by the home builder. We should make one for Al that has penguin stickers on it.

Equipment / Re: Low Band Antennae

Hey thanks for bringing that up on the HAM multiband verticals. You reminded me I've a few fibreglass comet multiband HAM base antennas in the garage, will have to see if any covers 6m, then I'm good to go.
