the 0000 15590/13750/13745 has long been their english to north america service but the signal sucks... way too high a frequency for time of day and they are trying to hit North America by aiming over the pole, i seem to recall when i mapped it once.

I wrote the director once, a long letter, explaining a better choice of frequencies... and i got back a.... blank QSL card

They just don't seem to care. At least it reaches us better than KBS World on 15575 1300-1500 UTC (which is good in the summer, but they stick to this schedule year round).

Did you copy station ID? Without that it's more likely you got China jamming SOH with CNR1. Especially if you heard time pips at any point, CNR1 uses them, SOH doesn't.

Well, that's not such a negative message compared to some of the stuff you sometimes hear from these guys. Doesn't Nolan Ryan own the "most home runs given up" record along with the most strikeouts and no hitters tossed?

Copying with a nice SIO 444 signal in Colorado at 1645 UTC. I heard a bit of a program if not station ID but because of background noise here and the fact music was also part of the broadcast, I couldn't make it all out. Radio Vaticana has this frequency at times too so that's a possibility. Will see if they say something at the top of the hour.

0042 SIO 232 here, thanks for the show

I heard a bit of this before heading off to dinner. Was weak but could tell it was old pirate radio recordings.

2339 tuned in to music a moment ago, OM speaking but rough signal, hard to make out what's being said right now. Thanks for the show!

Playing back my recording. It was nice that NZ went onto their Summer time because before, the first hour of the Saturday Night Request program was on 15720 kHz and that frequency just isn't propagating much to the front range. 9700 is however, and so is 7245 (and for a while, 5980 at 1300z). Playing back my recording now. I too had terrific reception.

Did they mention the best place to get "Happy Pizza" in Phuket?

Sadly I think I missed that part. Nothing about ping pong either.

About SIO 222 here. Thanks for the show.

This one has been playing various versions of "Funky Town". SIO 333 here.
0108 OM laughing over music, saying "familiar laughter" and calling out Skipmuck
0109 next song

Tuned in since around 0050, SIO 333 here.

Forgot about this particular broadcast which I found scanning around (was looking for RNZI at 15720 but that one is barely there). Good signal, but sounds fluttery.

0015 about SIO 222 here, some local QRM right there on that spot. Thanks for the show.
