Spy Numbers / P03k, 11420 kHz USB, 07 AUG 2022, 0530 UTC
« on: August 07, 2022, 0535 UTC »
Copied with weak propagation but distinctive signal confirmed by comparing to recording at priyom.org. Too weak to decode into encrypted text, not sure if normal software is capable of that anyway. Off at 0532z.

The Wailers didn't become "Bob Marley and The Wailers" until the album after "I Shot The Sheriff" appeared on. Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer left the trio and Bob got a backing band and kept the Wailers name. Bob was the front man of the Wailing Wailers vocal trio for years.

As far as I know, Bunny is the only one left alive. Peter and Bob died young. Peter was murdered in Jamaica, and Bob, of course, died of cancer. I don't think either of them made 40?

Bob Marley was 36, but Peter Tosh was 42, though around five weeks shy of 43. FWIW.

0513 tuned into the tail end of an SSTV, into another one immediately following. Fast mode, MMSSTV not decoding
0514 another SSTV, slightly slower mode but still quick, MMSSTV still not decoding, heavy static crashes
0516 relaunched MMSSTV after figuring out there was a problem with the levels that couldn't be adjusted manually, but it was too late, nothing decoded, signal gone at 0516.

0512 tuned into "Time" Pink Floyd, SIO 222

740
0510 SSTV, not able to copy (heard one earlier, around 0452, while out of the shack but within earshot, also not copied by MMSSTV)
0511 voices
0512 music, SIO 222 at peak

The Deal twins were a pair of matching cuties back in the day. HS cheerleaders and junkies at the same time. Kim got clean, Kelly still dabbles the last I heard. Junk will preserve you, which may be why Kelly still has her looks? Eventually it mummifies you, see Iggy Pop and Keith Richards.

I think Kelly's clean. And they're still cute.

Noted on the Smolinski SDR, it is in AM mode but for some reason is distorted until tuned in SAM mode. About Russia and Ukraine. Sounds like a BBC feed.

0124 "Slippin' into Darkness" War
0127 DDJ on the mic, more HFU shoutouts.
0128 Someone wants a "bluesy" tune, but it's not time for requests yet. More SSTV's to come. WDDR ID into...

0142 DDJ on the mic, feeling a bit disorganized. Barely touched his wine.
0143 "Cry Like a Baby" The Box Tops
0145 DDJ on the mic, HFU shoutout.
0146 "2000 Light Years From Home" The Rolling Stones. Good on them for knowing light years measures distance, not time. ;)
0150 DDJ on the mic
0151 "Tender is the Night" Jackson Browne
0156 DDJ on the mic, more HFU shoutouts. I'm starting to get lightning close to me so I may need to change to a web SDR soon.

0202 SSTV

0208 "Still There'll Be More" Procol Harum
...
0216 back in the shack after disconnecting and lowering the antenna, and switching to Smolinski SDR in MD, to "Radio Radio" Elvis Costello in progress and nearing its end
0217 DDJ on the mic, can't remember who requested the last song. Starting to feel the wine now. Next request is mine, hello and thanks DDJ.
0218 "Mesopotamia" B-52's (Thanks!)
0222 uncharacteristic silence... there was a brief noisy burst.... after a few moments, suddenly came back on with "Everyday I Have the Blues" B. B. King
0225 DDJ on the mic. Crunching through the requests.
0226 "Sweet Jane" Lou Reed (sounds like the live version from Rock N Roll Animal)
0231 DDJ on the mic. More or less in control, but not completely. Into "It's My Life" The Animals
0234 DDJ on the mic, having to stop Youtube from autoplaying the next song
0235 DDJ not keeping track into who's requesting what...
0236 "Crazy on You" Heart, DDJ complaining about the acoustic lead-in, LOL
0241 DDJ on the mic, getting autoplay problems as "Barracuda" was briefly heard. Starting to get a serious buzz which is what DDJ wants. Live the dream, DDJ.
0242 DDJ is a bit overwhelmed by the requests. Going to do "Train in Vain" for Jim Renfrew. HFU shoutouts.
0244 "Train in Vain" The Clash
0247 DDJ on the mic, he knows the last song as "Stand By Me." I think that was supposed to be the song's title but the famous Ben E. King song having the same title made them search for another one.
0248 "Satisfaction" The Rolling Stones
0252 DDJ just can't get any satisfaction. HFU shoutouts. Someone wants to hear a song by Nick Lowe
0253 "She Don't Love Nobody" Nick Lowe (briefly interrupted then resumed, DDJ saying "sorry")

0326 DDJ on the mic
0327 "Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)" Neil Young and Crazy Horse
0331 DDJ on the mic asking if you can imagine being in the audience for that last one. Yeah, it would have been pretty awesome.

0356 DDJ is gonna play more tunes from his playlist. Into "A Time For Everything" Jethro Tull
0359 DDJ on the mic, almost through with the bottle, perhaps can last another half hour. Getting to my request which he hasn't the slightest idea, going to youtube to find it (I figured, LOL)
0400 Asking if I would troll him. Of course not! If I wanted to troll you, I'd request something by Mayhem. Into "Shady Lane" Pavement (thanks!)
0401 well, DDJ apparently isn't into that because he cut it off after the first chorus. That's what I get for trying to get DDJ to expand his horizons, heh.
0402 "Midnight Blues" Snowy White & The White Flames (with DDJ talking along with it)
0408 DDJ on the mic, WDDR ID, into "Raised on Robbery" Joni Mitchell
0411 DDJ on the mic. Says he's not gonna look for more requests (dang it). Looking into his playlist...
0412 "Wooden Ships" Crosby Stills & Nash
0418 DDJ sticking with his playlist, into "Suddenly Last Summer" The Motels
0422 DDJ on the mic, sounds like he might be through with the bottle. Into "Heaven Is In Your Mind" Traffic
0427 DDJ on the mic. Sounding like the bottle's really hitting him, LOL. He's about through but says he has a couple more tunes. Maybe he's not quite finished with that bottle. He's "enjoying it" (bottle or broadcast, I can't tell), hopes your enjoying it too.
0428 Finished the bottle. OK, that's clear now. :) Signing off, saying goodbye.
0429 QRT

0000 Faint music copyable here.

747
Not sure, it's rare for certain. But that's actually a great thing to see, scoring from secondary players. That's true in pretty much every team sport. Obv. an own goal from the other side helps things too. City ought to be able to handle visiting West Ham, guess we'll see who tallies the goals tomorrow.

748
I didn't know that this broadcast was preceded by the Bow Bells. Generally I can only get them during the B part of the year on one of their 49m band broadcasts at 0500 UTC, and I've never heard it on any A broadcast. I'll have to try to make a point of tuning in. I've got weak but copyable reception here in Colorado where I've been tuned in since about 1630, and it's starting to get rapid fades now. This one is hit and miss given that it's on 13m.

749
0103 a bit offset at 6919.98 or so. Low signal, blues tune.
0108 signal's improving, SIO 222.

750
Tuned into an SSTV in progress at 0209. Music at 0210. Poor/fair signal at this point.
