Best reception of this frequency during the B season.  Music is pretty clear, OM speaking is a little garbled.

0940z A series of pop tunes, some I have heard before but can't ID.  I am guessing this is request program MDK2 had noted.
0947z Guitar instrumental
0958z C, S, N, & Y tune
1000z Time pips to news
1004z "Maybelline" Chuck Berry
1008z 70's Funky/disco song (I thought it was "Car Wash" at first)

2166
Excellent reception....in Spanish

REE is airing a live friendly (exhibition) match between Germany (currently top ranked in world) and #6 Spain.  The match is in Germany.  This is a tune up for the World Cup in June in Russia, this also could wind up be the pairing for the final but keep an eye on the Red Devils of Belgium.

2125z "uno-uno". (Tied at 1 with about 10 minutes left in the match.)

MW Loggings / WIZZ 1520 am 1245 utc 18 March 2018
« on: March 18, 2018, 1352 UTC »
I only went out of my way to blog about them as I heard they may send out paper qsl cards, I emailed them - we'll see what happens.

This 10,000 watt daytime station in Greenfield, MA is 90 miles due north of me - much closer to Skipmunk.  I am familiar with Greenfield from having stopped for gas/food there a few times while taking a son to/fro college in New Hampshire a decade ago.

It took until 1245z to get decent reception, WWKB Buffalo 1520 am (350 miles away) was still overpowering them well past sunrise.  Did not hear song titles, nor artists, between pieces.

1245z Lottery Numbers (Mass Cash)
1246z Unidentified song, male crooner
1248z "Michael Row Your Boat Ashore" The Highwaymen
1258z Jazz instrumental
1300z Signal tone (V for Victory?), WIZZ ID, into news (includes Robert Mueller story, Syria/Turkey)
1306z Unidentified male crooner
1308z "Putting on the Ritz" female singer

Fair signal....second time I have now received this broadcast.  Usually, according to their schedule, I only receive transmissions they deem broadcast to "Pacific", this broadcast is "Solomon Island" targeted.

1100z Time pips to news (Russian/England diplomatic issues).
1106z Gospel/Hymn music.

Huh? / Fifty years ago today.....

New York City's St. Patrick's Day Parade is always on March 17, unless it falls on a Sunday - then it is held on Saturday, March 16, in deference to St. Patrick's Cathedral on the parade route.  The turbulent year of 1968 was such a year the parade was on the 16th.  My first generation Irish teenage babysitter had asked my parents if she could take me (age 11) on the subway from our Queens neighborhood to Manhattan to watch the parade, permission was granted.

Little did we know that while traveling to the parade as straphangers, Grand Marshall NY Senator Robert F. Kennedy announced he was running for President.  This was very late in the game as the election was less than eight months away.  RFK treated the parade like a campaign swing, perhaps the slowest parade is history, shaking thousands of hands as he "marched' - mine included.  Two and a half months later he would be dead.

(I am not in said photo but it is a good representation of the blocks of handshaking he did.)

2171
Excellent reception...a delightful program of music from the 20's and 30's

2113z "Everyday Away From You"

2172
Excellent reception on both in Spanish.  From Camp Nou in Barcelona.  FCB hosting London side Chelsea in the "Sweet Sixteen".  If the results stand, Spain will have 3, England 2, Italy 2, and Germany 1 in the final eight of the Champions league.  The English squads will have gone a disappointing 2-3 in this round while Spanish sides are 3-0.

2107z "Goal, goal, goal, goal.   Messi, Messi, Messi.  Barcelona tres, Chelsea cero." to Champions league theme.  (Draw for quarterfinals 7am eastern March 16 on Fox Sports 2)
2118z "Barcelona es magnifico"
2133z Barcelona fans singing team song behind play by play.
2135z Whistle, match over 3-0 Barcelona (Messi with a brace)

2173
Excellent reception on both.....in Spanish on '36 Zenith Console 8S154, through a dwindling snowstorm.  Also, had it on 15500, then went off air at 2055z.

Background on the match between Seville at Manchester United.  This is the second leg of a home & home in the "Sweet Sixteen" .  The first match ended nil-nil, the second leg is nil-nil as the second half starts.  Aggregate goals sends a team through to the final 8 (the better team from Manchester is already through  ;)).  I am guessing another Spanish/English pairing will be on tomorrow afternoon when Barcelona hosts Chelsea.

2050z Near goal by Seville (2 OM's doing match)
2101z "Manchester United cero, Seville cero"
2108z Rashford will a direct kick on goal
2111z Valencia with near goal.
2115z "Goal, goal, goal, goal goal. Seville".  1-0 Seville. Champions League theme music playing in background.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Qqd6T_A9LY
2118z Double substitution by United, Martial and Mata in to try to score.
2119z "Goal, goal, goal, goal, goal.  Seville" 2-0 Seville.  Champions League theme music. (This is all over but the crying, United needs three goals in 11 minutes to advance)

2174
Excellent reception....in Turkish.  Another discovery of live sporting event.

1307z Pace of OM broadcast is clearly sporting event, OM said "Futbol" several times, the Turkish word for soccer.  While I have not recognized a team name yet, this is being broadcast as the lone Turkey Super Lig match is being played - Yeni Malatyaspor versus Fenerbahce.  The latter squad is one of the top squads in Turkey, a win here puts them 3 points out of first.
1322z Match broadcast interrupted for Call to Prayer (Asr) - The Redsox will clearly need a prayer session during each game in 2018  ;D
1340z Back to match coverage
1349z Half time, presumably, play by play cadence has stopped
