1036z Last half hour very pleasant Cuban music.  I wasn't going to blog about the station but the music has been exceptionally good.

Good reception....in Portugese

1558z OM talking after music set, "musica", sounds like a series of commercials that followed.
1600z Now a switch to coverage of a sporting event  - "Parada dos Esportes", according to their web site
1617z "Play by play" continues of what sounds like soccer, but can't figure out what match is being broadcasted.  Serie A in Brazil does not play until May.
1634z Play by play continues, this appears to be a Sao Paulo short season state league. 
1643z Much cheering, excited OM - I am guessing a goal was just scored.
1649z Reception now at noise level.

Happy 2018! There are a number of broadcast cancellations as well as a number of changes to our transmissions, please take a look at our new broadcast schedule below.

Thursday:

3 PM Eastern - 2000 UTC - 7780 kHz to Europe / North America
6 PM Eastern - 2300 UTC - 9955 kHz to South America
7 PM Eastern - 0000 UTC - 7730 kHz to Western North America
8 PM Eastern - 0100 UTC - 5850 kHz to North America
8 PM Eastern - 0100 UTC - 9395 kHz to North America
8 PM Eastern - 0100 UTC - 9455 kHz to Mexico

Sunday:

4 PM Eastern - 2100 UTC - 7780 kHz, 9265 kHz, 9395 kHz to North America

Transmissions at 8 PM Eastern on 7490 kHz and TuneIn every Thursday have been discontinued, transmissions at 11 AM Eastern on 9400 kHz every Sunday have also been discontinued.

A transmission on 5850 kHz at 8 PM Eastern every Thursday has been added! It provides excellent reception to all of North America! Likewise, a broadcast every Sunday at 4 PM Eastern has been added on 9265 kHz, the target area is North America - reception reports are appreciated to gauge effectiveness.

Excellent reception....in Spanish

I had not realized RR did sports.  This is game 6 of the finals between Gramma and Las Tunas.  While flipping the dial I recognized play-by-play and the pace gave it away as baseball.

2248z Single OM doing play by play, Las Tunas and Gramma mentioned several times as well as the word "Foul".  No score yet.
2309z A player just reached second on a double.

Excellent reception...coverage of the Spanish Domestic Cup competition between hosting Barcelona and cross town rival Espanyol from Camp Nou (put it on your bucket list).

2055z  Two OM's on color/play by play   "Messi, Messi, Messi" Lionel Messi just scores to put Barca up 2-0 after twenty five minutes.
2059z Near goal by Barca's Luis Suarez who scored the first goal.
2100z Music tones on top of the hour, OM recounts the scoring by Suarez and Messi.
2117z Messi just misses his second goal, halftime.  Barcelona 2 Espanyol 0.
