1202z Just hearing OM above noise but better over past 5 minutes.  This may be another case of improvement with sun rise
1208z Reception up to fair, OM and YL in discussion about Romanian current events.
1222z  Reception on 17650 now good - Romanian Christmas music
1230z Reception has been varying widely on both frequencies - now very good on 15460 with Classical Music.

Fair Reception

When two teams from the same area (rivals) compete they call it a Derby (DAR-bee).  When they are first and second in the League it is pretty special, even more special when they are two of the eight best squads in Europe.  Manchester United is hosting Manchester City.  This is first of up to a half dozen meetings between the two squads this season. City is vying for the Premier single season consecutive win record of 14.  City had their overall undefeated streak (since April) snapped on Wednesday when they fell to Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine, 2-1, in Champions League play.  The manager of Shakhtar gave his post match press conference dressed as Zorro to celebrate his squad's beating City and qualifying for final 16.

As shown in their frequency chart below, RNZI has switched to 7430 am at 1300z.  No luck here at that hour as Radio Marti is badly bleeding from 7435.  I'll try again at 1400z.

Poor reception but noteworthy as this is the first time I have received them on this frequency is a very long time.  Also, we have just begun the heavy snowfall here.

Fair Reception

The sports purists who read this will appreciate what the "Cityzens" have accomplished so far this season.  City have opened Premier League play with the finest record in history, 13-0-1, and combined with a 7-0-0 Cup competition record puts them at a remarkable 20-0-1 since August.  Their play resembles ballet on turf, by all means catch one of their matches to see what is meant by the "Beautiful Game".

1605z Sportsworld to live coverage of Watford v Tottenham Hotspurs (It's not City but there's not much that is   !), 1-1 in the 53rd minute (Music/Football trivia: Sir Elton John bought 4th Division Club Watford in 1977 and help guide them to their very first promotion to the First Division by the early 80's.  Sir Elton was a lifelong Watford supporter when he purchased the club.)
