Fair reception - some fades & noise

I have never received RNZI after their birdcall interval signal and antenna switch at 1100z.  This morning, I am still picking up their transmission.  They definitely switched direction as the post 1100z broadcast is no where near the strength as the pre 1100z broadcast.

Excellent reception...in Spanish

So when two soccer/football clubs meet from the same area it is know as a Derby (pronounced DAR-bee).  When Liverpool meet Everton it is the Merseyside Derby, when Arsenal meet Tottenham Hotspur it's the North London.  When the two Barcelona based squads face off it is the Derbi barceloni.  From what I hear, the wealthy, Madrid loyal established folk favored Espanyol while the immigrants, poor, and revolutionaries rallied behind Barcelona.

18:58z Espanyol 0- Barcelona 0, Sergio Roberto with a near miss, Messi with a run toward goal.
19:10z Busquets of FCB with a dangerous chance on goal.
19:16z Suarez with a near goal for FCB.

Programming note:  Two Madrid (Real and Atletico) squads are facing off in the first of two semifinal legs of the Champions League on Tuesday, May 2 at 18:45z.  I imagine REE will have special broadcasts for the match and again on Wed. May 10 at 18:45z.

Fair reception but improving.  I have been listening since 0900z with an ever strengthening signal.  It has been the case here for the past month that as Rangitaiki, NZ (transmission site) reaches sunset (0927z today) the signal here shows vast improvement.

0925z Unid rock song OM spoke before/after song.
0929z Unid hard rock song
1015z (Just back from harvesting the horseradish) OM singer unid song - signal at its best so far this morning, now using T/O 7000 with just its whip.

For things I can't handle myself, I found someone (an hour's drive) that will repair things at a reasonable rate.  So, the bomber works well - albeit shows its age. He has a steady stream of customers so there can be a wait.  It took a year for the 7G605 to come home, 6 months for most items.  He will also search out cosmetic parts and will not secure if he feels it is a price gouge.  Why I'm looking for a front cover.

I presume you ID-ed your previous owner of the g500 from an inside label.  The 7G605 belonged to a Lt. R H Clarke in the Utility Squadron of USNR (from label inside).  I traced him to ship leaving Tunisia in 1943 heading to occupy Italy....but that's the end of what I have found.

I read his book in the 70's.  I flipped it to my book eating son in the early 00's - he decides to do his college essay about a book he read on it.  Simply a great read.  It could have been "Zen and the Art of Radio Fabrication" or "Zen and the Art of Jarring Pickles".  The principles are all the same.

Excellent reception

This is an enjoyable, quirky program that started decades ago on RN.  It is now produced via PCJ media.  It is like a 1960's TV variety show over the airwaves.

How do you like it?  By odd circumstance, I wound up with 3.  The original found at a consignment shop for $90 which needed more work than I could do.  The second online for a bargain was advertised as "for parts" - which I was getting for cosmetic parts for the first, but with minor work is in great shape.  The third was given to me as a friend was downsizing, it had been his father's, and knew I had a fondness for radios.  The way he first described it to me, I thought it was a 8G005Y (model just before G500). This one needs a just little work but still works well.  I love my G500's - I do wish the bands were more exhaustive.

Now, if you know where I can get a front cover for a 7G605, you'll be my friend for life.  By the way, I found my '37 Emerson (Ingraham cabinet) AR-176 for sale buried in a barn in rural Pennsylvania.

I tuned in for a time, signal was great.  I was more curious about catching their new Saturday 9400 AM transmission at 1500z from Sofia, Bulgaria (I believe a former Radio Bulgaria site/frequency) but no luck here.
