The snow storm totals here in WNY varied from 10 inches south of Buffalo, N.Y. along the lake to maybe an inch or so north of the city. It’s a sign winter has arrived in western New York. The ice boom will be installed today 12/10/2020 on the Niagara River, weather permitting. It’s put into place every year to reduce the amount of ice entering the Niagara River.The ice boom is installed when the temperature of Lake Erie reaches 39 degrees, or on December 16, whichever comes first. Expecting upper 40 degree temps this weekend with some rain.
