The other Chicago powerhouses 1000 WMVP and 1160 WYLL are probably difficult to impossible for you.
Other upper mid-western stations to try would be KTSP AM 1500 in St. Paul MN 50kw and WTAM AM 1100 Cleveland OH 50kw.
Looks like you already snagged WJR AM 760 in Detroit.

If you haven't already logged it, give WLS 890 AM in Chicago a try.
When the Idaho station reduces power at night and with the BC station nulled
should be not too difficult hearing Chicago...  they have LOUD signal.

edit:  OK, looks like you already got WLS

They are the big signal in here at night when ethnic format WNZK goes to 680.
Other than CKGM have only heard one other station on 690... managed to pull
WELD "Your Hits are Here" in WV out from under the Montreal station early one
morning last December.  WELD only runs 14 watts at night but perhaps caught
them on a PSRA.

Good signal in here on the car radio just before dawn but with an annoying heterodyne.
AFAIK, they are the only AM broadcaster on 530.
Upon arriving home, went down to the shack and got out the CCrane2E and was able to
separate the whistle from the station by turning the radio.  Placed CHLO in the null and peaked
the whistle northwest-southeast of me.  Did some quick internet research and there appears to be
a 10 watt TIS in Lansing MI on 530.  Based on my quick DF that would make sense.
Unable however to hear any voice from the possible TIS.

I have two south facing windows here in the home office / radio shack. I have to keep the blinds closed much of the time in the summer, but it's nice in the winter. 80F here, 46F outside.

Low sun angle and no leaves on the trees to block the sun make for natural heating
through south facing windows on sunny winter days.
On a sunny day with temp above 30F here the furnace never kicks on all day.

Got our first serious snow of the season yesterday here in southern Michigan.
The salt trucks were out doing their best to rust out the fenders and rocker panels on my car.
However, we got nowhere near the 5-8" snow total some early forecasts had predicted.

Some odd propagation this morning...
heard 224  BH Birmingham AL which is very rare here,
on 233 heard QN Nakina ON which is a regular but it was mixing with UM Churchill Falls NL
and was also picking up a "B" in the mix perhaps BR Brandon MB,
also copied 201 GL La Grande Riviere QC which is rare here

I'm a geography geek in addition to a radio geek (I was the kid studying map books for hours on end instead of doing my homework 35 years ago)

Yup, know what you mean... can study a map for hours   :)

Some guys log these by transmitter site and other guys by city of license.  KQWB city of license is West Fargo  ND.
It's up to you, my logbook shows KQWB as ND and KMOX as MO but neither tower is in the respective state...  :-\
Towers are placed to direct the signal to the target market while protecting other stations on the same frequency.

Your other choices in ND include:
970 WDAY 10kw but their tower is in MN
1200  KFNW  50/13kw but the Vancouver station on 1200 will be a problem from your QTH

That leaves a couple of 5kw stations, 790 KFGO and 1310 KNOX...
both probably tough catches.

btw,  284 QD The Pas  MB reported miskeying on 11-2-20 in one of your earlier logs
now seems to be back to normal for the past week or so.

Sad news.  :(

They were not only a good source for radios but all the other bits an pieces as well,
especially some of the hard to find stuff.  Always professional and courteous they
were my first stop when looking for anything radio.

Best wishes to Fred and the staff.  Thank you.
