SIO 222 this afternoon in central Italy. They are hammered by Link-11 on their lower sideband right now.

362
Average signal for them this afternoon in central Italy. SIO 343 with some deep fades. I'm jumping around on the radio dial, listening to various things and checking back periodically.

1716 - Tuned in during "Jump" by Van Halen.
1718 - ID "Coast FM"
1725 - Song from The Cure
1726 - Advert for "(something)SlowFood.com" (?) among other things.
1736 - "Red, Red Wine"

363
Presumed LHH Received in central Italy, SIO 443, with some deep selective fades and a little bit of QRN.

"With A Girl Like You" at 1825 UTC.
ID @ 1834 UTC, into news headlines.
ID @ 1835 UTC, "Broadcasting to Europe on shortwave, this is Laser International."
Bruce Springsteen song at 1940 UTC. ID at 1943 UTC as "Laser Hot Hits" and a couple mentions that this was Sunday afternoon. I guess the SW programming is tape delayed FM/MW programming today (or always?).

364
Normal programming. "Don't Talk To Me About Love" by Altered Images then ID at 1813 UTC.

Good signal into central Italy (my temporary home for a few weeks) but QRM from a peskie-like QSO on 6280 USB in a language that I can't quite place.

365
SIO 333 in central Italy at the moment but a solid SIO 444 on the Twente SDR with synchronous detector. The usual programming. Advert for Britishcornershop.co.uk at 1850.

366
Clear ID at 1906 UTC. Pop music programming. Good signal on Twente SDR at this time with a minor amount of selective fading.

367
Announcements of "Caroline 558", etc. seems to be an edited recording of mostly announcements and no music. SIO 242. Listenable on Twente SDR with synchronous detector.

Latin American Pirate / 43m tonight at 0200 UTC
« on: March 15, 2018, 0214 UTC »
QRN level is quite high in southern Brazil tonight.

6934.9 KHz - still no ID but heard "Don't You Want Me Baby?" at 0155 UTC and then dance/techno-ish music after. Carrier goes off for 30 seconds-1 minute at a time at random intervals and long periods of dead air. Carrier off for good (seemingly) at 0211 UTC.

6973 - Our usual friend Lupo Radio is there, not as strong as the station above, with their usual music programming.

Latin American Pirate / UNID 6934.9 KHz AM 0209 UTC 11 March 2018
« on: March 11, 2018, 0211 UTC »
SIO 434 in southern Brazil with 1980's-style pop music and English vocals. A little bit of QRN from rain storms.

Their audio is good; I would open up the IF bandwidth beyond +/- 4 KHz if it weren't for the peskie on 6930 LSB.

0219 - Somebody in LSB opens up exactly in this station's LSB with lots of "hoooooola! hoooooola!" calls.
0222 - Just playing album cuts from the same album. Still no announcements heard.
0225 - QRMer has moved to 6940 LSB, which doesn't help much.
0228 - Carrier off with no announcement, no ID given.

371
Hearing them with an average signal on an SDR in Brazil tonight. SIO 222.

372
Instead of Coast FM, today it's Energy FM but also from Tenerife. Similar programming - non-stop dance tracks. Programming was parallel to this: http://streema.com/radios/Energy_FM_92.1

Almost listenable in the Netherlands on a portable and a wire. Then I turned on the Twente SDR for the synchronous detector and SIO 242 there.
Checked some USA east coast SDRs and several have carriers but only one in Acton, MA had a listenable signal.

Tuned out 1030 UTC.

HF Mystery Signals / HAARP 6300 KHz 20 Dec 2017 0747 UTC ?
« on: February 07, 2018, 0910 UTC »
I am not exactly sure which SDR I was using at the time but based upon the similar modulation patterns that I have seen on YouTube videos, I'm assuming that this is probably HAARP. Does that seem right?

Huh? / Death
« on: January 17, 2018, 2343 UTC »
There sure is a lot of death going on here on this board. Maybe we should change the name?

375
Open carrier for the last 5 minutes then into bass line with voice over "I was stand by for the Dr. Detroit radio gram".

1801 - "Honey Honey, Sugar, Sugar", The Archies
1803 - "Knowing Me, Knowing You", ABBA
1807 - "I Think We're Alone Now", Tommy James and The Shondels
1810 - "Give A Little Bit", Supertramp.
1813 - ID and of course, signal took a long fade just at the right moment but heard "...superior AM modulation".
1814 - "All Mixed Up", The Cars. Very strong in VA right now. Average SINPO 44434 over the last 15 minutes.
1818 - "Everyday I Write The Book", Elvis Costello

Music continuing. Signal great in Del(aware)-Mar(yland)-V(irgini)a with foF2 ~ 6MHz right now in the area. Outside that area, not so good. Signal is only S4 in western OH and positively blows in Upstate NY, New England and the southern US.

1832 - Announcement in a "pirate-like" voice (appropriate?  ;)) and thanking HFU folks. Into a Boston song.
1837 - music faded down, carrier slowly lower and lower...TX off

Made the jump to 6150 from 6960. Thanks for the tip, Azimuth Coordinator.

1857 - Announcement "Dah, you're listening to the Doctor Detroit Radio Gram on Radio Illuminati"
1907 - Deep Purple
1923 - "The show's over, so go tune somewhere else...That's right. Good day."
1925 - The Star Spangled Banner
1926 - TX off
