I got em! Good copy I'm listening now  13:20z and they're talking about the Worker's Party of Korea is putting out a book...and they're saying sumthing about "the final victory"!! Um.."statements of the Korean National Committee..."

"...the worker's party of Nepal..."

"The national council of the (??)...for the committee...

"The United States must not commit such an act.."

"And that's the end of the news for (??)...the Voice of Koh-ree-ar!"

music 13:25z. Kinda cool music actually. Nice choral harmony. I'm jammin!  ;D

•13:38z "the Koreans are going about with complete confidence in the Workers Party of Korea and its supreme leader Kim Jong-un!"

•13:46z they just introduced a song about the Workers Party of Korea...I heard every word but I can't remember it verbatim...about how glorious the Party is and how it's gr8 for everyone and everyone loves it!

I guess it's pretty glorious! Apparently VERY glorious. Glorious as all hell! Glory glory glory! Lord Kim Almighty! Maker of all that is seen and unseen! Glorious glorious glorious...

I had them about the same time you did 2015-2030 as I was spinning the dial.  I was surprised to receive them so early the afternoon - yes, same sad story on bombing.  I had always wondered if 1010am became a rights holder for a professional sports team's radio broadcasts, could/would they still broadcast over sw?

Hmm that's a good question! I haven't listened a lot, just now and then. Good question. Lmk!

I occasionally catch CFRX Toronto...the SW transmission of News Talk 1010 AM.

My sources say they're pumping 1 KW. I can usually hear em but recently the reception here is gr8! Today 5/25 I had the best copy of CFRX so far. It was as if I were in Toronto.

If u guys are in the Gr8 Lakes region...or close by Toronto, it's been excellent copy.

Of course it was bad news today tho bcuz of that bombing in Mississauga. But gr8 copy of terrible news!

Thnx for ur help and I gotta tell you this brief story cuz it's hilarious:

Sumtime in the early 60s...my dad was a kid and he was really into radio. Like a nerd! Anyway, he sent a QSL request to •Radio Moscow•, and he asked them for sum maps of Russia. He liked maps.

Well...awhile later he got a letter from...State Dept? Anyway they told him that (paraphrase)
"the materials you requested have been deemed to be propaganda, and so if u really want those maps, you have to file a request with US Gov't."

His mom was PISSED!!

So then in like 1969 he got another letter from the State Dept that explained to him (paraphrase):

"...we kno u asked for maps from Moscow 10 yrs ago when you were 11... and we told you that you'd have to file official paperwork w US Gov't to request those materials. ..however, now that law has been declared unconstitutional, so sry about that. Go ahead and ask for the maps"

...I wish I had the letters in front of me so I didn't have to paraphrase from second-hand memory but...LOL that's hilarious! Can u imagine his mom's reaction?
"The little bastard wrote to MOSCOW! And we got a letter about it from the Feds!"

 ;D :D

You got me curious as to why a town in northwest Ontario would be named "Sioux" since AFAIK this is Ojibway territory.  Some quick research shows that this location was probably an Ojibway "lookout" for advancing Sioux.

Yes sir and also MI's Upper Peninsula. Ojibwa/Chippewa territory.  Ironically then, SAULT STE. MARIE, MI...that's in CHIPPEWA County.

Why is it that we all live in the same place?

"Theeeere is a town...in north Ontario-ooh..."  8)

23:07z I've been monitoring 6739 USB for 15 min and I'm hearing a beacon...*beep*...*beep*...very slow but not completely consistent. The beeps are longer, or shorter...it can't be Morse...do u think we'll hear sum HFGCS on 6739U tonight?

Is this beeping/beaconing for some other purpose, that you know of?

▲23:11z and it has stopped...and started up again 23:12...weird beeping. It is erratic with stilted rhythm

▲23:28z still going. I'm gonna sit tight

▲1:22z I've been checking this every few minutes. I do not hear it anymore. I do not copy a thing.

Do they do this beaconing to test propagation conditions? All quiet now

does anybody else in USA like to catch •Voice of Korea• from KUJANG? I'm frickin obsessed with hearing their English-language broadcasts! It's been a thing with me...trying to catch DPRK.
Well conditions + reception is getting better for that...I am hearing their French program now 14:06z. It seems like every time I copy their English-language program it's not optimum and I can only catch every other word.

I'm just intrigued and I want to hear what DPRK could possibly have to say to me in English! I'm hearing French very clearly now. Every time I hear English...too much noise.

Is it a...bad idea to ask for QSL card from Pyongyang? I want to, but...just tell me it's a bad idea plz!  ::)
