Huh? / Apps

I just read there is an app that lets you watch local channels on your TV using your antenna. I guess you need to be from a younger generation to get how that works?

The RF Workbench / Simple DSB TX

What if you took the classic diode ring modulator

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ring_modulation

and replaced the center taped audio transformer with

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bridged_and_paralleled_amplifiers#Bridged_amplifier

The BTL amp could be a China TF card MP3 unit and the diodes 1n5817 or simalar.

If it would work you can't get more simple.

The Red Green Show episodes 1-300

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUXPuYZ4DEQ&list=PLB90DDA45E8C2EF45

If you have youtude-dl installed it will download all 300 shows and save them as .mkv files of ~100MB each, so about 30GB total

This link will let you pick the episode you want to watch.

Huh? / Burning Man Livestream
« on: September 03, 2018, 0104 UTC »
Just found this: Burning Man on youtube.

https://youtu.be/hvWVdfSoIqo

So far I can only watch it with Firefox and there is no sound. If I try to watch it with mpv I don't get any errors but it's just a black screen.

If I redirect the output by typing: mpv https://youtu.be/hvWVdfSoIqo > bm.txt
then open bm.txt I can see the errors. Something about no trailing CRLF.

General Radio Discussion / Android help
« on: July 29, 2018, 1737 UTC »
Any Android phone experts out there? I have a Kyocera Event C6133 that has the "boot loop" problem. I tried everything I found and nothing worked. I need to flash a new OS with a PC and USB cable. Just wondering if anyone has already been there. It's like trying to figure out how to get free cable WIFI, once you already know how it's so simple.

General Radio Discussion / FCC enforcement website

The FCC enforcement website has changed. I had not checked it in a couple of weeks.
Looks like they are focused on pirate radio now. I did not spend much there yet.
Just thought I'd let you know.
