Any ideas or suggestions appreciated.

Static crashes and frequent utility interference (sounds like fast beeping). Nice signal when fading in but audible only with random wire (nothing with telescopic).

Better reception now (almost an hour after sunset) but that static crashes are relentless. For next two days warnings have been issued for hail and thunderstorms in Scotland. Still a pleasant night to be out with the radio.

I listened today (25 Jul) in Edinburgh Scotland at UTC 0028 and it was simultaneously on 4790 and 4980 kHz. The latter was very good, no utility interference unlike on the other frequency. Some mad preacher was shouting like Hitler..

Superb clear and stable audio in Scotland, sounds perfect with 9 kHz filter. Hardly any fading at all.
