Listening via NA5B SDR near Washington, D.C. ...

2305 UTC: Heavy rock song. Shazam's not giving me a title.
2309 UTC: Another song; I'd categorize this one as a death metal/screamo rock song.
2313 UTC: SSTV transmission.
2315 UTC: Another heavy rock song.

Good and strong signal directly to my radio here near Seattle as of 0240 UTC.

The music sounds like Ningen Isu, which Two Dog played lots of a couple days ago as well.

33
Fair to good reception out here near Seattle as of 0225 UTC. This could be The Corbett Report, a pirate that has shown up in recent weeks with similar classical music broadcasts on 7320 AM.

The signal has gotten stronger, and I'm now listening to the music -- mostly classical piano -- here at 0250 UTC with just the whip antenna on my radio.

Off suddenly at 0306 UTC.

34
Listening via the Northern Utah SDR, as this one's not quite audible on my radio here ...

0353 UTC: Mellow guitar jazz
0358 UTC: OM on the mic with ID, shoutout to HFU posters (including me), then goodbye
0359 UTC: Signoff

35
I'll be honest: I thought this was two out-of-band hams when I first tuned in.

0204 UTC: Two guys still talking about various political issues, especially how dumb the average American is.
0208 UTC: One of the guys was giving a P.O. box address in Arizona. Between the fading signal and the muffled mics, it's a bit hard to hear.
0214 UTC: "Chicksh*t Conformist" by Dead Kennedys.
0218 UTC: Two guys talking again.
0225 UTC: Talking about Ron Paul now.

36
Just tuned in at 0200 UTC - fair to good signal here near Seattle ...

0200 UTC: "Kagamijigoku" by Ningen Isu
0202 UTC: "Tokushin" by Ningen Isu
0207 UTC: "Yaneura No Sanposya" by Ningen Isu
0214 UTC: "Gankutsuou" by Ningen Isu, followed by "Irohanihoheto" by the same band
0222 UTC: "Ucyuu No Disclosure" by Ningen Isu, followed by "Anata No Shiranai Sekai" by the same band

Thanks for the music, Two Dog!

Was surprised to find Josiah speaking away around 0125 UTC for the first time I've heard him in months. Now coming in pretty well here near Seattle as of 0145 UTC now that the post-sunset static has stopped.

Poor to fair signal heard directly here near Seattle. If you want to listen in, the Northern Utah SDR has this signal booming in.

0322 UTC: I tuned in just as the male on the mic was giving an ID in Spanish (my Spanish is very poor, as I sadly took French in school). Then the music resumed.
0331 UTC: At first, the audio was fading way in and out on my radio, but it's much more stable now with the music steadily audible now.
0333 UTC: SSTV transmission.
0334 UTC: Music's back.
0357 UTC: Still audible here, though there's deep fading again. Sounds like Mexican hardcore rock now?
0400 UTC: SSTV transmission noise cutting through the fading nicely. Followed by the same alternating male/female voices giving the ID, just as I heard back around 0322 UTC.
0412 UTC: Checked back on this frequency and heard an SSTV transmission in progress.
0415 UTC: Repeated ID again, a hetrodyne-type noise, then off.

Just checked my radio on my way out to run an errand, and this station's coming in well directly on my radio out here near Seattle. Heard a blue-sy rock song playing as of 0132 UTC.

MW Loggings / Re: KXEL 1540 AM Waterloo, IA 0005 UTC 20 NOV 2023

Nice catch! That station sneaks in underneath semi-local KXPA out here regularly.

This is the nutty thing about U.S. geography. I think most folks would assume Iowa is closer to me on the West Coast than to you in Connecticut. And yet, KXEL is just under 1,500 miles away from me.

This station's audio is making it to my radio near Seattle very weakly, but it's very loud via the Northern Utah SDR right now ...

2306 UTC: "How Deep This River Runs" by Joe Bonamassa.
2311 UTC: "Mainline Florida (Live)" by Joe Bonamassa.
2319 UTC: "The Valley Runs Low" by Joe Bonamassa.

Thanks for the music, Thunder Chicken Radio!

Not audible out here near Seattle, and only barely audible via the Northern Utah SDR, so I'm listening via the NA5B SDR near Washington, D.C. ...

2241 UTC: "Words" by F.R. David.
2243 UTC: Start of one song aruptly stopped, then recorded MRI ID with YL IDing herself as "Tamara Burke" (spelling?) played into "Jamming" by Bob Marley & The Wailers.
2246 UTC: Suddenly shifted down to 6865 AM mid-song.
2247 UTC: MRI ID into "Let's Go to Bed" by The Cure.
2251 UTC: MRI IDs again into "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now" by McFadden & Whitehead.
2255 UTC: Male-voiced MRI ID into "The Lebanon" by The Human League.
2258 UTC: Movie sound bites and music clips into lengthy, deluxe Mix Radio International promo ID
2300 UTC: "Can't Fight the Moonlight" by LeAnn Rimes.
2303 UTC: Another canned ID into "Music and Lights" by Imagination.
2322 UTC: Checked back in and the signal's now fair via the Northern Utah SDR with "Don't Leave Me This Way" remix by Thelma Houston.
2323 UTC: Another MRI ID into "Just an Illusion" by Imagination.

Thanks for the music, MRI!

Hearing this directly up here near Seattle ...

0204 UTC: "Alien" by Lebanon Hanover.
0207 UTC: "Der Weg Zu Zweit" by Grauzone. The signal's fading out quite a bit here.

This signal has been really good out here near Seattle since I tuned in around 0145 UTC. EIBI lists The Corbett Report as being on this frequency in this hour. Not sure if it's them or not.

Signed off just before 0300 UTC.

Also, as a helpful note: Remember to check your junk email folder for eQSLs. That's where this one first landed in my email!
