Hearing weak but audible music via NA5B SDR in Washington, D.C., as of 2150 UTC.

I think I can hear just barely audible music directly out here as well, but it's right at the noise floor.

A weak but mostly audible signal with news in presumed Pashto at the top of the hour, followed with other programming at 0307 UTC. Off by 0330 UTC. Some choppy fading and atmospheric hiss but little static.

While I've heard BBC via the UAE at other times, my first time hearing this broadcast. Not sure if I'm hearing the back end of this signal or hearing it from across Asia.

708
Lots of noise, but a fair signal as Josiah goes through one of his usual rants.

Hearing music via Northern Utah SDR at 0204 UTC. Noisy, though!

0208 UTC: SSTV transmission (I'm not set up to decode right now).
0209 UTC: "Crash" by The Primitives (might be a later cover version, though).
0215 UTC: Heard OM talking while I tried to find a better SDR, but couldn't copy it. Noisy signal wherever I try!
0221 UTC: SSTV transmission.
0223 UTC: OM said something quick, then into new rock song.

0254 UTC: Checked back in and I can still hear weak rock music just above the noise floor level. As the sun sets here, I'm finally hearing traces of the music directly at my radio, too, not just via the Utah SDR.

Thanks for the broadcast, Robin Hood!

2325 UTC: I can hear the OM host and just a bit of the music directly out here. But it's weak and often slipping below the noise floor.

Must be a big signal ...

Hearing weak, just barely audible music directly here near Seattle as of 2319 UTC. Via the SDR in Weiser, Idaho, it's a pretty fair signal with bluesy rock.

2329 UTC: "See See Rider" by Jimmy Rushing. The signal strength's taken a huge leap up in the past few minutes. Coming in good to the Idaho SDR and nearly fair further out west at my QTH.
2333 UTC: "Sent For You Yesterday" by Jimmy Rushing.
2337 UTC: COOL AM ID and email address (didn't quite catch that) in synth female voice.
2338 UTC: "Roll 'Em Pete" by Jimmy Rushing. The signal's faded out a little here, but it's still audible. Those fast piano notes are cutting through the static!
2342 UTC: COOL AM ID with reverb effect, right into "Evenin'" by Jimmy Rushing.
2348 UTC: "S.K. Blues Part 1" by Big Joe Turner.
2350 UTC: Male voice ID'ing COOL AM being relayed by Mix Radio International, followed by repeated COOL AM IDs.
2352 UTC: "Tom Cat Blues" by Lightnin' Slim.

Thanks for the COOL music!

After logging one Eastern Canada maritime station a week or so ago, I've been trying to hear a few others. Heard this one from Halifax, Nova Scotia, this evening. Synth female voice giving weather and forecast information in French.

Reception was noisy with some fading, but clear voice with no garbling, and the signal gained a bit of strength in the first few minutes after tuning it in. Still audible at 0314 UTC.

Music audible way out here, but just barely. Noisy evening!

714
A noisy band tonight, but I'm hearing bits and pieces of weak music directly out here the past 10-plus minutes.

Got mine, too. Thanks, Dr. Detroit!

Tuned in via Burke, Virginia, SDR, where the signal's coming in fair but noisy.

OM gave a Virus-19 Radio ID at 2142 UTC. He used the same frequency in LSB yesterday.

Tuned in at 2316 UTC via an SDR in Virginia. Out here near Seattle, I'm getting periodic hints of a signal but nothing audible yet.

2316 UTC: "Eyes Without a Face" by Billy Idol.
2319 UTC: OM on the mic talking about his signal, the coming "pink moon" and using SSTV to send QSL cards ... pause as he turns on his machine.
2322 UTC: SSTV transmission starts; sends out "COVID 19 -- Radio to Die For" QSL image.
*SDR I was using froze up. Now listening via Burke, Virginia*
2328 UTC: "Against the Wind" by Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band.
2329 UTC: OM back on the mic, then "Pink Moon" by Nick Drake, then another song I didn't recognize.
2336 UTC: Two SSTV transmissions, including the QSL image from before.
2339 UTC: "School's Out Forever" by Alice Cooper.
2343 UTC: OM talking about technical glitches and Radio Cairo, then into one Genesis song and quick transition into "Land of Confusion" by Genesis.
2350 UTC: OM chatting about music. Lots of noise on the signal now. He then played another song, chatted some more about music and played a John Prine song.
0001 UTC: OM saying his goodbyes into Boston's "Don't Look Back."
0007 UTC: "Blaupea" by Abrupt Gear, played by request OM says at 0010 UTC. He then says bye again into the opening strains of "You Can't Always Get What You Want" by The Rolling Stones.
0011 UTC: "Sunset Grill" by Don Henley.

Shortwave Broadcast / Al-Azm Radio 11745 am 1635 UTC 07 April 2020
« on: April 07, 2020, 2033 UTC »
When I first tuned in, I heard more noise than audio, but the carrier was evident. By 1635 UTC and afterward, the audio faded up and I heard talking in Arabic, mostly in male voices, but at least one female voice, too. I compared it to the signal as heard from an SDR in Romania (YO3IUL).

From 1643-1700 UTC, the programming alternated between Arabic music and talking. By 1700 UTC, it was still audible, but just barely most of the time. When I checked back at 1800 UTC, Firedrake dominated the frequency to jam Radio Free Asia.

Good morning overall for hearing Saudi, as Radio Saudi was nearly local-like on 13710 kHz and very listenable on 15435 kHz as well just before 1700 UTC.

I can tell we're heading toward summer when that 13710 kHz signal starts booming in here near Seattle regularly, as it was today between 1600-1700 UTC.

Glenn Hauser's "World of Radio" (I listen via podcast) talked about this some time ago and indeed concluded they're running a fraction of the 50 kW they're licensed for.

This past week's episode (April 2) includes an account of a listener trying to visit the station's transmitter site and not getting too far before turning around for fear of being shot at.

That said, that WJHR signal has been coming in stronger than usual lately to the upper-left corner of the U.S. where I'm located. (Of course, when I just checked it now, I couldn't hear it.)
