Fair to good via Burke, Virginia, SDR with "Obsession" by Joywave at 2238 UTC. No audible sign of it directly out west here.

737
BBC via Kishinev-Grigoriopol, Moldova, with Persian talk at 0254 UTC.

I was looking to see if pirate YHWH was on the air in this part of the band, but I found this signal, which was mostly not audible at first but rose up to very audible level by 0258 UTC. Talking by both a man and a woman in the first few minutes after 0300 UTC; signal faded back down after 0315 UTC. Lots of atmospheric noise and choppy fading, but also very clear of interference.

I've logged this one a few other times over the past two years; it seems like a random one to hear regularly in this part of the world. Maybe the back end of the signal is coming over the north pole?

I heard VCO again last night (was up late again) and it was more audible than the previous night. Also then heard VCS out of Halifax, which I've logged previously. Also heard VAJ, which I hear regularly out of the much-closer location of Prince Rupert, B.C.

I sometimes use these marine weather stations to gauge reception conditions, as well as to figure out how much my outdoor antenna is helping as I fiddle it.

0313 UTC: Just barely audible above lots of noise here. Music at the moment.

740
0130 UTC: Coming in right at noise-floor level at my place and on the local SDR, but audible via the Northern Utah SDR with "Never Been to Spain" by Three Dog Night. Lots of static tonight!

0139 UTC: Back after a couple minutes off air. "Twilight Zone" theme at 0140 UTC after the Blues Brothers.

Still not hearing WDOG directly out here, so I jumped on the NA5B SDR in D.C., where the signal's coming in strong and mostly clear ...

Tuned in at 0018 UTC, just as "All You Need is Love" ended, and OM gave WDOG ID and chatted a bit about The Beatles, into recording of another one by The Beatles.

0023: "WDOG, live from Abbey Road studios ...," OM said, into some more Beatles takes, skipping around a few bits of songs, then "Don't Bother Me (Take 11, 12)" by the lads from Liverpool.

0029: OM with ID again into "Hold Me Tight (Take 22, 23, 24)" by The Beatles. OM talking in between takes as if broadcasting live from the studio.

0103: Finally hearing bits and pieces of "Hey Jude" directly here northeast of Seattle. Just barely audible, but slowly gaining strength. Just in time for signoff, as it turns out.

Thanks for all the music this evening, WDOG!

No joy out here near Seattle with this one; just a wisp of a signal audible via the Northern Utah SDR.

Not really hearing it out here near Seattle, but it's fair to good via the Northern Utah SDR, though with loud peskie or out-of-banders interference at times.

2323: "Brown Sugar" by The Rolling Stones
2324: OM with chatter into the next song and ID, then "China Girl" by Iggy Pop
2330: "Island Girl" by Elton John; noise and static increasing, then "Illegal Alien" by Genesis
2337: "Fat-Bottomed Girls" by Queen; peskie interference has stopped
2342: OM host chatting a bit, mentioned ID, then "Kung Fu Fighting" by Carl Douglas
2345: "Money for Nothing" by Dire Straits
2348: "Hey Joe" by The Jimi Hendrix Experience; reception via Utah's getting noisy again
2352: OM chatting again to sign off.

I caught this broadcast from Sydney, Nova Scotia, just as it signed on with its broadcast of marine conditions and forecast.

The synth female voice in English was mostly garbled at first but faded up to readable levels at times as it went on. At 0757 UTC, it switched to giving the same information in French. Reception overall was noisy with some fades. I didn't listen until the end, which was past 0800 UTC, as I needed some sleep!

I tuned in and heard Spanish contemporary Christian music, which matched the Radio Luz 1650 online stream when I checked. At 0718 UTC, there was an ad break. Lots of choppy distance fading and hiss at times, and the signal faded for a while after 0722 UTC.

This one’s listed at just 1,000 watts at night; distance from me is 1,021 miles.

Received the same one here, too. Thanks!

Can't say I missed Josiah, but it's been a while since I last heard YHWH. He's giving his usual rant on 7475 right now with a fair to good but noisy signal.

0227 UTC: And now he seems to have signed off abruptly. Didn't play the usual, terrible song.

0232 UTC: Actually, the carrier never went completely off, just the audio. And now I hear him again, though with a much lower audio level.

Back to a fair to good audio level by 0240 UTC, then back down again at 0243 UTC. Can't tell whether he's just deep fading or having audio troubles, too.

748
Yep - I'm also listening via NA5B in D.C., as the signal's not making it this far west so far. Playing "You Sexy Thing" as of 2343 UTC.

Just wisps of music audible out here near Seattle as of 0116 UTC. I tried listening via SDRs in Utah and Washington, D.C., but there's amateur radio/peskie traffic covering most of the music.

750
Audible bits of music as of 2356 UTC out here; also checked (to make sure I wasn't just imaging the music) and heard music on the local SDR (K9VD).
