Via Westminster, MD ...

2103 UTC: "No More" by Long John Baldry. Big fades every half-minute or so, with another station rising up in the background, but a strong signal otherwise.
2106 UTC: "Bury Me Not on the Lone Prairie" by William Elliot Whitmore.
2108 UTC: "Lost on You" by LP; the song seemed to cut out for a second a few times.
2112 UTC: YL synth voice: "This is Radio Free ..." Banshee?
Then bits of a song going off and on. Sounds like audio problems.
2116 UTC: New song starts, but audio hard to hear. Fading hitting the signal more now.

Listening via Burke, Virginia, as it's not yet audible out west ...

2013 UTC: “Hell’s Bells” by AC/DC
2017 UTC: Song suddenly off, then silence
2021 UTC: “Highway to Hell” by AC/DC
2024 UTC: “Monster Mash”
2027 UTC: Mr. Red Sky with Radio Free USA ID, talking about his Halloween program and doing shoutouts, email address and saying he’ll be right back.
2028 UTC: “Superstition” by Stevie Wonder
2031 UTC: Red Sky gave shoutouts, ID and email address again as Stevie finishes his song.
2032 UTC: "I Walked with a Zombie" by Roky Erickson & The Aliens
2035 UTC: Red Sky with ID and chat into "Halloween Parade" by Lou Reed
2038 UTC: Another shoutout or two against Halloween sound effects into "The Crypt Jam," followed by Chipmunks' version of "Witch Doctor."
2043 UTC: Red Sky with ID, more shoutouts (including to me!) while "Halloween" theme played. He then gave the email address again, along with more shoutouts, including from the chatroom, mentioning Big.Badfish.Al's request of "Thriller." He then played the "Chucky Theme," which Al also mentioned.

Voice of the People and all those other Korean clandestines often come in pretty well to this area in the morning hours. I'm in Lake Stevens, and even with just my whip antenna, that one, along with Echo of Hope and Voice of Freedom are regularly heard here.

893
Via Weiser, Idaho ...

2312 UTC: "F**king in Heaven" by Fatboy Slim
2316 UTC: YL with "CNR" ID amid audio clips and random noises

894
Via Burke, Virginia ...

2147 UTC: “Big Ten Inch Record” by Bullmoose Jackson
2148 UTC: ID: “You’re tuned into the biggest pirate radio station there is, Big Johnson Radio.” Then “Rotten Cocksuckers’ Ball” by The Clovers.
2150 UTC: “Big Long Slidin’ Thing” by Dinah Washington.
2152 UTC: “This is Big Johnson Radio” ID by YL synth voice, which also gave the email addy.
Big fade out as the next song started ...

895
Tuned in via Chris' SDR in Westminster, Maryland, as the signal's not making it to the Seattle area ...

2028 UTC: "Nightmare on My Street" by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince
2030 UTC: OM announcer with ID of "Radio Free USA" as the song was ending, mentioned this is an early Halloween song and gave the email.
2031 UTC: "This is Halloween" playing as the OM announcer gave another ID or two.
2034 UTC: OM -- aka Mr. Red Sky -- started playing the "Halloween" movie theme, gave his name, IDs, email again.
2037 UTC: Mr. Red Sky gave ID and email again, then played "Dragula" by Rob Zombie. I can get the signal via the University Park, Pennsylvania SDR, with a fair but distorted signal, but it's not making it anywhere in the West (Utah, Idaho or Washington state) that I've checked.
2041 UTC: Mr. Red Sky with a quick ID into "Bark at the Moon" by Ozzy Osbourne.
2045 UTC: After an ID and the email address, Mr. Red Sky played the theme from "The Exorcist."
2048 UTC: "I'm Your Boogie Man" by KC & The Sunshine Band. The signal's fading now with increasing static via the Westminster, Maryland, SDR.
2052 UTC: "Werewolves of London" by Warren Zevon.
2055 UTC: Mr. Red Sky gave shoutouts, ID again into "Don't Fear The Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult. Now listening via the Burke, Virginia, SDR. The signal's fair to good, but static creeping in on the increasing fades.
2100 UTC: Halloween sound effects as the signal fades some more. Ah, it's "Halloween" by the Misfits. Getting more difficult to hear the signal via Virginia.
* * * *
2123 UTC: Checked in on the signal at my own receiver and via the SDR in Machias, Washington, which is just across town from me, and I can hear music right at/just above the noise floor level now.

Thanks for the early Halloween tunes, Mr. Red Sky!

MW Loggings / KTWO 1030 0430 UTC 17 October 2019
« on: October 17, 2019, 0610 UTC »
Both this evening and the previous one, while driving in Lake Stevens and Marysville, Washington, during local night, KTWO out of Casper, Wyoming, was dominating the frequency. Tonight, I heard Glenn Beck's show and then a news break mentioning where Wyoming ranks in gender pay equity.

It was completely obliterating KMAS out of Shelton, Washington, which reportedly runs with just 1,000 watts at night. KTWO used to be a near-nightly station here, but has sometimes gotten lost in the noise more often in recent years.

Glenn Hauser reported last week that KTWO is being heard more often in the Eastern U.S. these days, possibly because it's not running its directional pattern that's supposed to protect Boston's WBZ.

2222 UTC: “Re Konstructor” by Clockdva, then “Rayonist” by Clockdva
2229 UTC: “The Adoptive Morphology Begins (Phase V)” by Clockdva
2230 UTC: Suddenly off

898
Weak signal via the Machias, Washington, SDR near my house ...

2235 UTC: "Take Me to the River" by Al Green.
2238 UTC: "Call Me Al" by Paul Simon (popular tune on the pirate bands the past 24 hours!)
2242 UTC: "Dust in the Wind" by Kansas

899
Listening via Burke, Va., SDR ... fair to good with some static

2209 UTC: "Leave it to Beaver" theme
2211 UTC: Synth YL ID, then "Mr. DJ" by Badfish
2213 UTC: Synth ID repeated during the Badfish song
2214 UTC: ID repeated "Welcome to Unclever Name Radio ...," then "Don't Worry About a Thing" by Badfish.
Then a few moments of audio chaos with various clips, etc.
2218 UTC: "Call Me Al" cover by New York Brass Band
2222 UTC: "Everybody's Got Something to Hide" by The Beatles
