Longwave Loggings / 100kHz time signal? 1320UTC 2/27/2022
« on: February 27, 2022, 1325 UTC »
Seeing/hearing a bit of a time signal on 100kHz. Can hear on both longwire and vertical. Can't make out the station ID, but there are parts that sound like English. Thought it might be BPL China. Thoughts?

Receiving about the same strength as WWVB 60 kHz, but not nearly as steady signal. Image? Real?

1254 S5, QSB, sounds like hymns, can't make out language. Bursts of data on frequency.

10/11 meters / 2135 UTC 29250 FM repetitive chirp
« on: May 30, 2021, 2139 UTC »
a very brief chirp, sounds almost like packet, but not. Repeats on a 15 second cycle. Transmission is maybe .25 seconds. Signal is not steady. Sometimes it fades off for a couple cycles then comes back strong again. S3 is about the highest.

screwed with one for 4 hours today and could not get it down lower than 2:1 SWR best case and only on the lowest part of the band. Also, how the heck does it mount? The diagram shows it stuck on top of a pole in line with the pole. Never seen a CP antenna mounted like that. I stuck it on sideways like it looks like it is really supposed to be, but not geed results.

I see a bunch of variations on eBay of it with prices all over the place. The videos make it look like a pretty nice rig for the price point. Thoughts?

Very odd. Two or three stations talking back and forth and the signals had QSB. The band is not open to any degree that I can see. Some full quieting into S. Texas.

Shortwave Broadcast / Radio Marti DRM on 7345kHz
« on: July 06, 2020, 2137 UTC »
Anyone catching it directly? I can get it on a couple of Kiwis near-ish Greenville, but can't get a good enough SNR here today to decode. Yesterday 'something' was jamming it. Had great SNR but no lock due to the jamming.

2150 = the interference just started. Three narrow carriers right down the middle of the DRM signal.
