WPON is back on 6950 USB this evening at 0043 UTC, with an ID by a female computer voice and then into a country western style female solo. Good S8 signal, but high noise level here tonight.

Had an ID on 6950 USB by WPON, "The Weapon" with gun fire sounds after Irish style music, then off at 2329 UTC. Very good S9+ signal in Eastern Massachusetts.

"The Hole" 6930 USB with positive ID at 2336 UTC, and email address of "kahn@whoever.com". Very strong S9+20 signal in Massachusetts, with eccentric selection of music.

Is it at all possible for you to move down to 6925? Or are you crystal bound?

General Radio Discussion / Re: JVC & Kenwood Merger
« on: May 15, 2008, 2356 UTC »
Kenwood's amateur business has been in decline for a long time, anyways. The last HF model they introduced was in 2003, which was the TS-480. I own one of these, and it is absolutely fantastic. But not a single model HF model has followed on since then. I hope they stay in the amateur market, but things look... not so good.

Very good S9+20 signal at 0049 UTC in Massachusetts. Yes, modulation sounds a little low, but still very readable.

Maple Leaf 6920 AM is a very good S9+20 here in Massachusetts this evening, with oldies.

WHYP is back at 2154 UTC (4/5/08) on 6925 AM. Extremely massive S9+20 signal. Played INXS "Listen Like Thieves" and then ID by Brownyard. Then into Uncle Schleckstein. Good to log WHYP after a long time.

Still odd stuff going on at 2224 UTC, with repeats of "God Save Radio" and the International Voice of Family Radio ID.

North American Shortwave Pirate / 666.. We Read (6925 USB)
« on: March 29, 2008, 2144 UTC »
Very odd activity on 6925 USB at 2143 UTC. Possibly Brother Stair clips, but not the usual numbers parody format. S9+10. Mostly repetitive clips of "666" and "we read".
