I can see it on the waterfall, and can pull out bits and pieces of music, but down in the noise overall and occasionally clobbered by some wideband QRN/QRM just a bit lower.

Bluegrass music noted on 6935 KHz AM at 0040 (7/5). Peaks to S9.

S9 on 6875 KHz USB. Seems to be an old show. Mention of "2nd broadcast". Shouts out to people who heard the prior (first?) broadcast. Many of the mentions date way back to the early 90's (CSIC!).

Solid S9 carrier but virtually zero modulation. Seems like some guitar rock but really hard to tell.

Decent signal here in the Boston burbs around 0112 UTC. 80's type song and then a TCS ID. Kind of high noise level here.

That's great news for Mr. & Ms. MRI. MRI is a great station; hopefully their new-found success off-air will lead to greater things on shortwave down the road. Major beer props!

I am personally a fan of the RFSpace products, as I have a NetSDR that I love and has served me well for at least a year. I think given your proximity to that MW station, you'll definitely need to add additional filtering, as kcpr mentioned.

I heard this piece on NPR this morning, and thought it was kind of interesting. Click the giant "play" link on the page to hear the whole story.

Finding A 'Radio That Is Just A Radio' In The Digital Age

The United Nations has declared Friday World Radio Day in celebration of radio's unique status as a "simple and inexpensive" technology with the power to reach even the most remote, marginalized communities.

But we wondered in this digital age, how hard is it to find a simple, inexpensive radio?
