Jane's Addiction - Been Caught Stealing at 0132 UTC. Good S8 signal.

677
Mega nice signal peaking at S9+20 with The Who "Who Are You". Doctorin' the Tardis (Timelords) at 2210 UTC (freakin yeah! KLF).

678
I have Premier Radio International on 6910 KHz AM at 2156 UTC with a decent S2-S3 signal. ID help thanks to Gino in Italy. Nice to hear an Irish pirate here tonight.

679
Very strong S9+20 signal with a Daft Punk kinda tune at 1305 UTC.

680
Tune-in at 0041 UTC (11/23) and I have electronic music, but the signal is pretty variable. Peaks to maybe S6 but mostly dwelling around S3, if that.

681
Arcade Fire "Reflektor" at 2129 UTC. Carrier is maybe an S5 but I'm really having a hard time pulling the audio out. It seems kind of low.

682
Awesome S9+20 signal with an ID at 2121 UTC.

683
Yeah, basically.

684
Liquid is a reasonable S5-S6 here in the Boston burbs at 0057 UTC.

685
Very distorted audio and signal is S0 minus +120. Made out a "pip pip, cheerio" but then it took a huge S9 minus +280 fade on the ID and very distorted audio clearly heard.

Check eBay for FM band transmitters. If you can manage to filter out all of the VERY low power FM transmitters typically used for transmitting MP3 players, you'll find some probably-not-legal-but-hey-it's-eBay offerings around 1-10 watt. An example is this one which can transmit up to 6 watts:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/CZH-5C-1W-6W-76-108Mhz-FM-Stereo-Transmitter-Power-Supply-Antenna-/300802160628?pt=US_Ham_Radio_Transmitters&hash=item460934b7f4

I don't know anything about these, but transmitters like this are abundant on eBay. 6 watts, with a decent antenna, would certainly provide coverage of a few neighborhoods, depending on terrain and such.

It appears the 1 watt Veronica design is still on the market:

I HAVE used this transmitter (about 15 years ago, statute of limitations is way passed baby!) and it worked very well, if you can assemble and tune it up correctly. I ultimately had this transmitter working with a matching stereo generator board and an amplifier (maybe 30 watts total if I recall?) and it covered a large east coast city very well.

Virtually nothing but a faint line on the waterfall. S0, no copy.

Noted a signal on 6950 KHz AM at 0027 with an alternative pop sorta tune. Peaks to S7. XFM ID at 0031 UTC.

Gargantuan S9+30 signal at 0003 UTC with Dr. Benway typical ambient monologue about a diving trip. AWWWEEESOME!

North American Shortwave Pirate / UNID Open Mic 6925 KHz AM 2354
« on: November 02, 2013, 0000 UTC »
Huge S9+35 carrier popped up on 6925 KHz AM at 2354 UTC. Sounded like a microphone in a room with a TV on, possibly talk about baseball, but it was hard to tell. Off at 2355 UTC.

Edit: possibly Undercover Radio tune-up.
