11m QSO New Zealand 2345 UTC 28 Dec 2022
« on: December 29, 2022, 0012 UTC »
Listened to a QSO between VM00 Steve, near Rotorua New Zealand, and "802" mobile... Mark in Hamburg, Arkansas at 2345z 28 Dec, 2022. QSO took place on 27.405 mhz LSB mode. I could make out very little of Mark's comments, but Steve came in at a nice 4 X 7 ssb signal report with some qsb fading. Steve was using an Icom 7300 with an Ameritron amp running about 500 watts into a 3 element beam up around 60 ft. on a new self-standing tower. He said he was approximately 90 miles from Rotorua at a vacation home that placed his tower in a very nice location for working DX.

Copied here in North Texas with an Elad-FDM-S2 sdr and a 10khz-30 mhz e-probe, up roughly 20 ft. in a tree.
