All India Radio QSL
« on: January 26, 2023, 1640 UTC »
Jeez, my very first All India Radio QSL after years of reception reports.  Now, only Radio France International is a holdout.  This was sent in response to an email I sent about 2.5 months ago.  I heard, and was able to identify, about 45 minutes of subcontinent music on what began as their Arabic service then switched to French service.  Two of the songs were sung by Asha Bhosle who was brought to the attention of Westerners in the delightful Cornershop song "Brimful of Asha", All India Radio gets a mention in the song, too.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lM7H0ooV_o8

Tecsun H501x (broadcast received on this unless noted), Zenith T/O G500, Zenith T/O Royal 7000, Emerson AR-176, Zenith 8S154, T/O 7G605 (Bomber), Tecsun PL-600, Tecsun PL-880, Zenith 5S320, Realistic DX 160 using 40 feet of copper wire.  With apologies to Senator Gramm for his thoughts on firearms, "I have more radios than I need but not as many as I want."

Congrats!

I used to play that Cornershop song in my pirating days. It rattles off all the label's she had recorded for, which I thought was pretty cool.

Now you have to get that Partial India Radio QSL.
