That's the Chinese Spy Balloon. It's somewhere over the Northern U.S. They probably want to check out all that land they bought near that
airbase in the Dakota's? The sweat band of my red cap says it's nothing to worry about, Space Force will take care of it soon and bigly.

According to the news the President scramble US jets to take it down but the Pentagon said no. it was also said that it was over US Nuclear Silos 1 to 2 days before the media released the news  >:(

Some, including Republican lawmakers from Montana have called on the federal government to shoot the balloon down.

"Shoot down the balloon. Cancel Blinken’s trip. Hold China accountable," Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley wrote in a tweet. "Biden is letting China walk all over us. It’s time to make America strong again."
Secretary of State Antony Blinken was scheduled to travel to Beijing this weekend to discuss the Russia-Ukraine war with Chinese officials and meet with President Xi.

Top Republicans on the House Foreign Affairs Committee demanded that Blinken confront Xi over the spy balloon during his trip, calling it an "unacceptable" violation of U.S. airspace and American sovereignty.

Other Republicans went further, with Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., saying, "Secretary Blinken should cancel his trip to China."

Actually no. That types of surveillance went out with the 60's, after the loss of many aircraft and men.

The balloon isn't manned. There are also satellites.

Air surveillance is as old as flight, and everyone in authority, defense, and intelligence knows all about it and deals with it accordingly. Don't fall for the media hype. This is what they do when the news is slow.

Do you need a license? There's a town east of Denver that was issuing them for drones. Not sure if they are still doing so, and I've not heard if anyone managed to bag one lawfully with theirs.
