Zanahorias en Escabeche 6960 AM 0226 UTC 5 FEB 2023
« on: February 05, 2023, 0227 UTC »
Very strong signal in AM with some over-modulation with a loop YL and OM repeating in Spanish.  Radio Independente, Radio Libre for about a minute, then off.  Presently off.  Saw the carrier earlier, so might come back again.
Measuring 6959.919 kHz.  Back again at 02:30:30  After the YL says, "Radio Independente, Radio Libre", she goes on and says, "Aqui Nacional.....???".  Should be easy for a Spanish speaker!  Still going at 02:35 and remains very strong.
Played "El Chapo Mas Buscado (version Norteno)  by Ariel Nuno y La Nueva Generacion.    Then ID at 02:41  ("Esta es....?) and into Asunto Pendiente by Buknas De Culiacan.

Frequency is unstable.  Right now on 6959.894 kHz

Esta Es, Zanahorias en Escabeche....ie  Mexican pickled carrots, no?   Seems to me I recall the same station quite some time ago!    CW decoded as this, and the ID just now (02:54) sure sounded like this!

Now multiple IDs again for same at 03:01.  For those out east, try my KiwiSDR at Haida.DXer.ca for a great signal!

La Talla (En Vivo)  by Alamenos De La Sierra to 03:04, then YL ID, and back to Mexican music.

I had this directly as a weak carrier then an OM speaking then OFF
0230 UTC Back up again with OM speaking! I'll have to listen closely to the recording later. I have it as 6959.9 AM
0234 UTC I believe I caught an ID....can't tell if the other voice is a YL or OM?
0236 UTC Not hearing anything now, but the carrier is still up
0237 UTC Music?
0240 UTC Definitely music but it is low in the noise
0258 UTC Still hearing threshold music with some fair peaks
0259 UTC Getting some solid music now, but some QRN started up at 0300 UTC

Here is my recording of direct reception....not much of a recording, but you can hear the basics of my report above!
Recording is from 0230-0245 UTC

Here's a snip and paste of my decode of the CW at 0323 UTC using CW Decoder app:

I'm figuring the chance of an eQSL is not good, so how about some of that Spicy Carrot soup?  :P

SINPO=13111

232- Hearing OM and YL under the QRN, repeating same sounds, but can't copy. (Does have the cadence and sound of Spanish).

301- Had lost the signal before, and stepped away from the radio. Back and now hearing same OM and YL alternating short dialogue, with more Ute QRM now. SINPO=12111.

Tuned in about five minutes ago. I can hear Latin American music fading up and then way down on my big Eton Elite Field with my long-wire antenna attached. At times, however, the music's even audible on my barefoot Sihuadon R-108.

0248 UTC: Is that a Morse ID?
0249 UTC: Definitely CW coming in strong at times.
0251 UTC: Hearing talking, but it's not readable.
0253 UTC: Sounds like the music's back.

Mariachi music on a NorCal SDR. It's got me craving Enchiladas Suizas. More Mariachi music after a Radio Independente, Radio Libre id. Into "Viva Mexico".

The more I listen to this, the more it sounds like a legit station. Big S-10 plus signal and clean pro-sounding audio. A big production version of "El Rancho Grande" and into a stylized corrida sang by a tenor. Rock number and back to the mariachi's.

BTW it's one woman and two men doing the announcing.
