Radio Cinco De Mayo 6925 USB 00:12 05/04/13
« on: May 04, 2013, 0016 UTC »
00:12 Heard about three brief bursts of beginning SSTV signal lasting about 3-4 seconds each. --- Hopefully more to come. Signal was S4. Lots of QRN here.
00:18 now hearing music. Sounds like Latin / Spanish music with horns, etc.
00:23 OP came on and said "Cinco De Mayo" several times as an ID signal climbed to S7 Clear Audio.
00:27 Clear ID followed by QSL address  (Sorry for initial misspelling of Cinco De Mayo folks ::) )   ---  then into festive music.
00:35  Another ID folloed by  Gmail address. more music.
00:40 lost signal or off

00:43 OM came on and said a few words. (unknown Spanish)  Lots of Rice Krispies QRN. (Snap, Crackle, Pop) :D

Thanks for the Show Radio Cinco De Mayo! A pleasant surprise!

S-on at 0018utc with rapid Mexican ranchero(?) music, said "Hola amigos, este es Radio Cinco de Mayo", played several Mexican polkas, rock tune: "Cinco de Mayo", now playing genuine version of "La Bamba" not the Richie Valenzuela pop hit version, fair with some static, Kenwood R-2000 & 7mhz dipole. (edit) no more audio after "La Bamba".
Drake R8, Kenwood R-2000, Panasonic RF-4900, Sony 2010, Realistic DX440, Grundig Satellit 500, 7mhz backyard dipole, Mt Prospect, IL 20miles (32km) NW of downtown Chicago. I have been using online receivers because of strong data hash interference in my neighborhood that I believe is caused by Uverse squeezing up to 100mb/sec through ordinary pairs of wires. I don't have Uverse but neighbors do. williamhassig@yahoo.com
